For a travel trailer application, this should not be an issue correct? Willing there is no clocks as you say to time keeping needs. 120v fridge / microwave / TV.... should be non issue.
  • Post in thread: battery charging some up to 3.99 some at 3.3

Have new cells purchased in forum group buy, watching some of the vids out there about top balancing. I will lay them all in parallel, get the voltages the same. Some I had to hook up the mini cell tester @Will Prowse recommends in one of his vid to get the cell back so its matched to the...
  • Post in thread: Xiaoxiang BMS Settings

@tictag why would you set the BMS to 3.85 cutoff if you state 3.65 is optimal charge? Wouldn't 3.65 be max cutoff?
  • Post in thread: RV usage enough batteries amp/hour ?

thanks... agreed... if you are worried about it, get a battery. we get cold in early / late season, no option of shutting it off.
  • Post in thread: 30 amp shore power lead to multiples 24/3000

agreed with @snoobler , typical 12/3 house romex is good for 15amp circuit. Open your circuit breaker and see what we are talking about. Why are you going with marine wire, not typical house hold? I assume your wire is interior.
  • Post in thread: 12VDC, 30A Smart Battery Charger for $40.

@carlos1w So you not happy because of the 120min max time frame. It sounds like your battery bank is similar to mine. I have 8 LifePo batteries making 2 banks of 4 ( 12v ea). not knowing how long they will take to charge, can I assume from your work, it will take much longer to charge all 8...
  • Post in thread: Absolute beginner LifePo4 + inverter setup - please help

True they would, I would have to get a fancy roof rack system. and require I climb up lower there before and after we move the TT. Maybe in future. Step 1 is just build a set of LifePo for replacing current FLA batteries.

isn't this just like new cars off assembly line... most engines are good long running, some last for ever no matter what punishment's they get put through, and some are just crappy from the start and have short life. @MisterSandals yes they are 280ah recently bought. Its more important for me...
  • Post in thread: buyin some batteries and feel the need to test

thanks for the idea. it just so happens, this weekend, we were working on a apartment, with wall heaters, 1 needs replacing. so there's an instant 1500 watt unit. I just hope it will work on 110v. just need to make a case for it.
  • Post in thread: Absolute beginner LifePo4 + inverter setup - please help

Exactly reason I don't think Solar is my top priority .... we just don't get enough up in PNW winters. Unless i have 30 panels on the roof... :)
  • Post in thread: battery charging some up to 3.99 some at 3.3

Yes I will. Been too busy with work since I started this discussion Saturday. Hopping to get broken down and paralleled tonight.
  • Post in thread: 145 Watt 3x4 Panels

I might be interested in 3 or 4. I have TT that I have LifePo batteries for, but no way to recharge, except generator. I see you asking the question, do you think they are good units for a TT? I have plenty of roof space on my 33ft TT.
  • Post in thread: RV usage enough batteries amp/hour ?

ok, thanks. I will be looking into my converter/inverter here soon. battery packs are coming along. Will do some bench testing and I dont want to buy duplicate test equipment.
  • Post in thread: 280ah / Chargery package

@Pyrofx currently talking with local buyer. just to be clear your asking about the batteries only?
  • Post in thread: Daly high current question

there is defiantly a ton of options... its worse than amazon... https://www.aliexpress.com/popular/250a-bms.html the problem Will P. has with Daly is no working temp sensor. be careful if that is a requirement.
  • Post in thread: in a bath or not?

thanks guys for input... Yes thinking a plastic tote also for some type of containment. I will check them when i get home from each trip as my normal inspection.
  • Post in thread: Well, it was as bad as expected

Yes I am well familiar with the insulation properties of wood. the point is 1/2 of the heat is not lost through the 2" wide space between the insulation panels. That's all. Its not that inefficient. If one would use metal frame studs, then you can reduce the heat loss even further. I think we...

@smoothJoey thanks for your help. I will review your UL458 link.
  • Post in thread: How hot do BMS get?

yes most of the older heat sinks were glued on with that white paste, now they have a spring holding it down.
  • Post in thread: RV usage enough batteries amp/hour ?

So how many of us turn off your inverters when not immediately in use? My thought is to have inverter on 100% of the time. I don't really want to have to turn off and on the box just to flip a switch, or run the microwave. If its my power source, i think it should be on 100% of the time.

  • Post in thread: turning off the charger - RV

schmism, i will have to look into the "separate port bms" you speak of. haven't heard of that type. Ok, thanks snoobler. I read about that, but here on forum, i've read against constant trickle charge, Yes Snobbler, it is specific LifePo type charger. I'm pulling the standard charger out of the...
