I too had 1 runner... so i pulled the series pack apart, verified terminals and buss bars had NO burs. Then parallel connected, hooked up to charger and topped them all up to 3.4x let them sit. Connected in series again, attached bms, pulled a discharge on the pack with inverter and gun, they...

A smart mind listens to others, gets 2 sides of an opinion. Only the closed mind is so weak they dont want other input. @alfaeric some times its conversation starters, that bring up a problem discuss give opinions that pushes some to think, and take action. Just because he didn't say "I'm...

I would love to know the number of REG's ( recent college grads) that get out to work vs those that as you said, stay home and milk mom n dad more or the state . Compare that now to 10yr and 20yr ago. I think the number is increasing. I see the same thing in my circle of life. Pretty sad. I...
  • Post in thread: 8 X 3.2V - 12V 560AH or 24V 280AH

@Steve_S point about Murphy's Law, is exactly why I am going with same 8cells, matched up in 2 packs for 12v in parallel. I don't want to be out camping and have a single cell fail and loose power. Id rather have a single 12 bank fault, and have 2nd as backup. I'm not life or death, but without...
  • Post in thread: OL on 8s 24v lifepo4. PLEASE HELP! URGENT! I'M LOOSING MY MIND!!

When I get going to fast on so many projects, and they start going sideways, I find its best to stop, step away for 20min, collect my thoughts, focus on 1 project, then move to another. I have stopped my "dumb mistake" problem. I have gotten sooo wrapped around a problem that was not really there.
  • Post in thread: battery charging some up to 3.99 some at 3.3

yes true... just saying they can be during charge from my experience... mine did level out after a while. some of you are far more experienced than I am, just sharing my experience.

Hey Electro, thanks... this is what i ended up using... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GN7S7BM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 pack of 5,
  • Post in thread: turning on BMS

yea i just realized that... when measuring voltage, if you get 12v, then this is a potential difference of 2 terminals... if you get 0v, then you have no potential difference as in current flowing through it. voltage you measure across the open device id 1 pos cable and 1 neg cable. but amperage...
  • Post in thread: 12v for a trailer, but 24v is more efficient.

@stewchi @Sojourner1 it sounds like your usage will be close to mine. Boondocking, will just be cooling off before bed if too hot. Not necessarily running all day. My system is very young right now. My biggest concern after getting my TT ( 1.5yr ago) was the low supply of FLA. So i jumped onto...
  • Post in thread: Simple design for using an inverter to power your 50 amp service RV using a $30 Change over switch

Thanks scott for your layout of the switch. My issue is remembering to switch over. I tend to not always remember things. I'm thinking automatic is better... @HaldorEE what model do you use?
  • Post in thread: One cell charging to fast

I am far from an expert on the LIfePo batteries, but my experience and listening to others here, top balancing is the key. I have discharged them, charged them back up, topping them all up to same level, then discharging again. I keep cycling them to the top, single cell topping off if...
  • Post in thread: Heads Up Alert: Li-Ion & LFP prices going UP this month.

so your saying, i should have picked up the extra 4 I was thinking of, to make a 3x12v system... @#$$%%.... thanks for he head up.
  • Post in thread: tester connection leads

thanks... was thinking others know of a online supplier. usually a OEM will have a $5 cable shipped to me for $15 in shipping costs... trying to avoid that.
  • Post in thread: battery ballooned

Came home today and found my single cell battery on the charger ballooned up pretty good. Now what? 1) is it dead? 2) should I hook a fan up and discharge it? a little history I bought these new while back, put on charger set to 3.65v. Been on charger for few days. amps 4.62 has yet to drop...

  • Post in thread: Ok, this time I am serious (Texas)

you need to find the Amp draw on the pump, and get enough battery amps hours to cover that. Solar will recharge this during the day, but night time, its all batteries.
  • Post in thread: battery cell voltage 3.5 vs 3.3

nope, not OCD, but I am tired of waiting for this 280 to fill up 5ah at a time... its a little annoying. I'm on the fence anyway about getting 8 more. Not like I need them now, but I think will expand my 2 x 4cell 12v, parallel setup to a 2 x 8cell 24v pack for the TT. I have a 20ft run to make...
  • Post in thread: 12v for a trailer, but 24v is more efficient.

Thanks Jim for chiming in, I remember some discussions in the past about your 12v system. Hoping you would give some input. I'm leaning the same way... generator for AC and 110 converter for the rest. I guess I dont really need the 3k watt Multi if i go this way.
  • Post in thread: BMS for 280 ah cells?

I'd be curious also about a 200a BMS... Will tested one Chargery, thought it was great, but turned out not so good.
  • Post in thread: 24v battery inverter with 110/12v output

in a Travel trailer / RV, weight is always a concern. At home, I'm all about having spares - backup plan. On the road, we try to keep "extras" at home. Weight is our enemy.
  • Post in thread: Inverters wired connection

I dont think this came out correctly... I see a MPPT is attached as external device. NOT part of the box.
  • Post in thread: battery charging some up to 3.99 some at 3.3

correct the BMS should NOT cut off due to AH, there is no setting for that. its setup for cell voltage upper / lower and overall voltage upper / lower cutoff. nope charger has no settings... its basically a standard RV charger, PD9145AL. its setup for LifePo battery. the Amps did drop to 8.0...
  • Post in thread: 12v for a trailer, but 24v is more efficient.

ok, thanks for the tip. I will just run a 110v 10/2 wire to the panel then. shouldn't be too bad.
