I have a roof just like that. Used rails and L-feet screwed right through the roof with a good all-weather caulking. Been in place over 15yrs no issues.
I have a shed and barn with stand alone systems, air temp inside gets to low 20's in winter. Running combined 24V Lead acid battery's, Victron MPPT 75/15 CC, and a panel or 2 off craigslist. Running 12V DC light bulbs from Amazon. Using a $25 24V to 12V buck converter. No issues for years.
My 6000xp is running Grundfos pump 5SQ07-270 just fine; 3/4hp, 240v, soft start. I run it for 20min every couple days or so to top off gravity feed tank.
Hope they give you the pump details.
Magnum MS4024 split phase transformer based inverter/charger, in a humid damp shed. Worked great for about 15years now starting to have voltage sense issue. Getting replaced soon with a cheapo AIO EG4 unit soon. I don't expect it will get even half the lifetime of the magnum.
The Xantreax MPPT...
Running this on my 24v system cant say if its right but been no issues over a year after switching to LiFePO4:
Bulk/Absorb: 3.5v (28V)
Float: 3.375v (27v)
Re-bulk: 3.2v (25.6V)
Low Voltage Cut off: 2.96v (23.7V)
During winter with snow I hit the low voltage cut off often.
Northern California and in the mountains. Don't know how deep yet, will find out in a few weeks then choose the appropriate 5-SQ pump. Good site to purchase, might get from them.
My house inverter is 240V split phase already so that will help cut down the wire size. Im hoping well is going to...
Some use cases where I still run 24 and 12v
1. Sheds and barns where you have one panel maybe 2 and a single battery for electric fence, a light, etc
2. 15 - 20yr old system where 24V was more popular and cant completely redo/purchase a 48v upgrade. (Although in the works)
3. Running available...
I use the 18ga solid multi strand garden sprinkler wire. Its built to be buried so is very durable. I have 100's of feet of it in my yard and in sheds connecting 12 volt devices. Comes in many lengths and wire counts, 18/2, 18/5, 18/10...
The firmware on your model is to old, thats why you cant enter custom settings. I was in the same boat.
-Can you use the inverter side only, YES.
-Can you charge a Lithium battery, YES, But it will be using the Lead Acid settings so you will need to manually turn it on or off at the desired...
Hmm, disappointing they just completely change stuff inside and sell under the same part. But that's the cheap Chinese amazon way. Cant say if it matters or not but my experience with the small 3.7v LiPo pouch batterys is they swell up, but that's a different chemistry. So now im worried because...
Same here, changed to the 6000xp, completely off grid, no AC input. Its sunny out for next many months. Interested to see if it can recover and power up without out issue on solar after snow melts off panels. It should! If it cant without intervention its a deal breaker.
Looked at my EG4 Monitor Data history, My Cycle count goes up +1 every single night when the battery SOC% transitions from 95% to 94%.
Check your data history for the same thing! So 94% is a cycle?
Just received my two 12.8V 300ah Jita batteries, $969 on Amazon. Both arrived at 12.71V. Using an AC 5A 14.4v LiFePO4 charger to bring them both up before putting into service in series. Its gonna take a while. Came with a nice pamphlet of instructions. Will be using the lower end of there...
Hello, My Magnum inverter MS4024 is reading around +3VDC higher then the battery's actual voltage. Its causing me a lot of problems because the low voltage cut off and on is way off from reality. This thing has been in service for 15years. Any ideas on how to fix this? Is there a calibration...
Im using one of these. And one of those angle down conduit caps.

Yes, the remote (MERC) is reading high, its been drifting higher over the past 6months. The inverter DC voltage is wrong so its turning on and off at the wrong voltages. So my LiFePO4 batterys hit the BMS shut off before the inverter does the low voltage cut off. And its to old so there is no...
I have a Magnum MS4024AE split phase output. Been solid for 14 years and it lives in a not so nice environment. Upgrading from Lead to LiFoPO4 25.6V/300ah this weekend. However I think my firmware is to old to set up custom battery settings. 99% of the time im using my Xantex MPPT 150/60 CC to...
I have a MS4024 split phase, it makes a light buzzing noise, Normal. Its transformer based and a solid beast. Has fans when you really start to pull from it. Abought to decommission it after 15+ years.
Im switching my 13yr old system over to LiFePO4 batterys. 2 Jita 12V 300ah in series to be exact. My charge controller is a Xantrex 150/60 MPPT and it has a setting for what voltage it will restart Bulk charge. My question is what should that voltage be? This is an off grid cabin which always...
None of the cables on Sig Solar or Current connect match this description above. Wrong pin out or LL or RS485 instead of RS232. So need link to the correct PowerPro upgrade cable.....
These are incorrect but all they have.
Starting at 12.75v took ~3 days for my 5A LiFePo4 charger (I measured 4.9A) to hit the shut off 14.4v threshold. This was a 12.8V 300ah battery. Did 2 of them before they go in series.
SA uses a raspberry pi. Place is off grid, trying to keep unnecessary device from drawing power. But will mull over there website and see if the SA data can be integrated into a smart hub so I can make rules to run or not run things bases on battery SOC. For example: if SOC is <25% do not run...
For the past 15 years I've been running a small DC surface pump on a 70w panel at about 1gpm when the sun shines. But my spring dry's up early in the year these days so getting a 4 inch well drilled in a month or so. Will likely be <200ft deep. Im going to need a submersible pump and controller...
Several years ago I had a Windtura 750w. It was seemingly well built except the cheap 3 wire slip ring. It was more of an experiment to see if it would do anything to help me on on days when panels were covered in snow and cloudy. It barely did anything in the low constant winter winds. Would...
Can you adjust the compensation amount? On my Xantrex MPPT 150/60 I adjusted the temp compensation to 0mV/°C so it does nothing but can still monitor the battery temp on the LiFePO4 batterys.
I have eg4 6000xp and powerPro battery off grid at a remote location and I check the PC monitor app all the time. It works fairly well but could be better. I have some comments suggestions for improvement. I suppose this would also apply to phone app and the 18K. So EG4 if your listening...

Yep, would like to have some answers here too. These fans run to fast and often for light conditions. And in the PC app what is slope and is that fan speed by temperature? If so I want that.
Thanks for pointing these temp readings out. These Temps have to be bogus, that's way to hot in my 32C shed when this thing is only under <150w AC load from PV only, battery already at 100%. And where's that battery temp coming from? The LCD on battery says 32C and even on the battery section...
The indoor PowerPro wall battery has differnt instructions on the EG4 site. So exactly what cable is needed to do the upgrade for PowerPro indoor?
Im assuming this can be updated thru the inverter and the connect CAN RJ45 cable?
I did something like this for years until my spring dried up. Just pump about 1gal minute into an large elevated storage tank. Gravity feed to the house. Used a 65w panel and a 12V surflo ag sprayer diaphragm pump. Had a wire float switch on the tank and a Linear current booster on the pump.
Anyway to pull this data from inverter thru the 6000xp wifi dongle with out the EG4 app. Lets say directly to smart hub like Hubitat? Obviously a driver would need to be made for the hub.
Great advice guys! Will put back in the float and lower the rest a bit. Im thinking my days without sun capacity will be about 2 to 3 if im not there. Most info I found online was for RV's which I suppose could sit long periods with zero use.
I will start with something like this and see how...
About to mount my battery to a concrete wall, was looking to elevate it off the ground and remove the feet. But then see this in the install manual. So is this a wall mount battery or not? Is the mounting bracket and battery case not up to the task? It comes with 6 concrete anchors. I have a...
6000xp here and on EG4 monitoring site it seems to adds a cycle every day which is SOC 85% in morning to 100% by about 9:30am. 33 cycles so far which is about everyday plus some more since I connected it to internet. PowerPro wall mount battery. Shows 58kwh total discharged, 89.9kwh total...
I commissioned my 6000xp and its connected to eg4 powerpro battery a month ago. EG4 monitor is set to "Lithium" battery and com set to "0:EG4" so im using SOC% and not setting absorb/float voltages. The online XP Monitor can read the battery stats. Where are the charge settings coming from...
This is confusing, needs to be cleaned up.....
-Outdoor and indoor PowerPro using same FW?
-BMS vs LCD FW upgrades use same cable? Cause some docs say RS485.
-The cable description on Sig Solar needs update to include its use and what products.
If indoor and outdoor the same lets get the docs...
