Well, inverter ended up in new utility room. I took note of what copec said regarding the unit trying to maintain a certain temperature range to lengthen component life. I am choosing not to try to add any fans for the time being. The rockwool insulation keeps the room very quiet and you can...
  • Post in thread: Bifacial Panels, Unexpected bonus

We don't get much snow here in North Georgia, but got a little last night. When walking the dog I noticed that the array had a good inch or so of snow covering it. I thought that the temperature would have to warm up some to clear the panels so I would not be getting any production until later...

I finally got to test the possible replacement fan. (Noctua NF-A8 ULN) The Noctua is silent compared to the ambient noise while the stock fan produces a very high pitched loud whine. Note that the 3 pin connectors have different pin outs, so that has to be changed should anyone do the fan...
  • Post in thread: DIY LiFePO4 Cost Analysis - February 2022 Edition

Thanks for posting this. I found the numbers for cells used in the video to be kind of high. (Compared to my recent Docan purchase) Kid
  • Post in thread: Seplos CAN BUS RS485 48v 200A 8S-16S BMS

Good to hear you may have a resolution for the bms issues. I received my 2 200A bms today! Kid

I got to travel to where my inverter is stored and took a pic of the fan model number. Since I now know they are 12vdc, I can use a pc supply to test the noise level and compare to possible replacements. I can do this before I mount the unit to get an idea what approach to take. Also looks like...
  • Post in thread: Found this USA made switch, thoughts?

I plan to have a 200a class t fuse prior to the switch. So the interrupting performance would not matter i think. (200a or less) Kid
  • Post in thread: cking input amps from solar panel

Black is normally common and Red gets moved to whatever mode you are reading. At least in my experience. And +1 for possible blown fuse in your meter. Kid
  • Post in thread: Protran 50 Amp transfer panel overrated by Reliance Controls?

Perhaps reliance can answer the wire gauge question. I run the 50 amp for my critical loads panel. Kid
  • Post in thread: Deye / Solark 8K Setup, Some photos an diagrams!

Using Solar Assistant. I can only see total battery voltage. The individual cell voltages never showed on the bms page in the Deye menu. Only total voltage and temperature. But while I was there I checked the battery states with the Seplos displays and everything was staying in sync...
  • Post in thread: Our NEW GO-TO LiFePO4 vendor...09.20.21

Is it possible to get a stock update as to what is available from the Houston location? Will be ordering in the next couple of months and would like the option to order from Amy Zheng and company. Kid
  • Post in thread: Removing shadows.

Nice setup. What panels are you using there? Price and where you got them too 8^) Kid
  • Post in thread: Deye / Solark 8K Setup, Some photos an diagrams!

The breakers are for safety/convenience. The main house panel and critical loads panel are 65 feet away. I have not noticed any swelling. My cells are Eve 304 amp\hr from Amy at Docan. Shipped from the Houston warehouse last year. Kid
  • Post in thread: JOLYWOOD 108 Cells N-type Bifacial - JW-HD108N-415W

Could be coincidence but, the ratio of your 108 to my 144 would be a ratio of 1.33. Multiply your voc by that and you will get a value right at 50volts. Could be that your cells are larger, but same voltage. (higher current capability) Looks like your short circuit current is about 1.33 times...
  • Post in thread: Deye / Solark 8K Setup, Some photos an diagrams!

Well it looks like the Mrs. is going to insist on the inverter being installed in the carport utility room rather than the basement. This will add to the length of some of my wiring runs. 8^( Not sure if you answered this in the original noise question portion of this thread, but did you...

Received my battery shipment from Docan Tech today. Pictures here: Eve304 Shipment Kid

The room is humidity controlled. (basement) So I am not concerned with condensation. Also I do not think a running inverter in an inside space would reach dew point temperatures. (even with venturi effect) Kid
  • Post in thread: EVE 304Ah cells from Shenzhen Qishou Technology tested by OFF-GRID GARAGE

Gone! Quoted me 115 per 304ah battery, but said US stock went fast. Kid
  • Post in thread: Seplos CAN BUS RS485 48v 200A 8S-16S BMS

I had a similar event and found a bad (intermittent) connection on one of the bms sense wires. I got lucky and happened to see the cell showing low voltage and upon wiggling the wire, found the bad connection. The sense wire had been extended to reach the terminal and I had done a poor...
  • Post in thread: Seplos CAN BUS RS485 48v 200A 8S-16S BMS

Yes Seplos, I have the can model that this thread originally pertained to. Kid
  • Post in thread: Thermocouple interference

What I meant for NPLC is (number of power line cycles). It is the integration time based on line frequency. Since you don't require fast scanning, 50 - 100 would allow more time to for the integration of each measurement, providing a better measurement. 10 PLC is 1/6 of a second at 60 hz. I...
  • Post in thread: 3D printed Deye 5kw Hybrid Fan Unit - SUN-3.6/5/6K-SG03LP1-EU

Very nice!! I am thinking of adding fans to my 8k Deye when I install it later this summer. But of course it has side fans rather than top and bottom flow. Kid
  • Post in thread: Solar Assistant Versus PowerView Pro (for use with Sol-Ark)

Just fired up my Deye 8k this weekend and set up solar assistant today. Very impressed with the software so far. Kid

@Kornbread , Lemme know when you get those and how they look I am thinking of picking some up since I live within 2 hours of their warehouse KId

Shallco 48V Switch Thinking about using these on my 48Volt banks. Would appreciate thoughts and opinions. Kid
  • Post in thread: Seplos CAN BUS RS485 48v 200A 8S-16S BMS

So has everyone ordered through the Seplos official store? Just wondering as I will be ordering in the near future. Kid
  • Post in thread: 3D printed Deye 5kw Hybrid Fan Unit - SUN-3.6/5/6K-SG03LP1-EU

Copec stated in another thread. So I guess if this is accurate you would need to monitor your inverter temps to see if additional cooling was indeed required to prevent exceeding the above range. Kid
  • Post in thread: Our NEW GO-TO LiFePO4 vendor...09.20.21

Picture not showing up for me. Very interested to see how much difference in the studs there are. Kid
