I have ordered Samlex inverter today. I called before ordering to make sure they have it in stock and the unit is brand new. After reading this I hope I will receive it. Will post back once it arrives.
  • Post in thread: Slimline battery case: DIY or prefab available?

This is exactly what I would like to achieve. You can use blade cells from Big Battery. I would prefer to diy my battery to get 300 ah capacity. Just trying to figure out how to prevent swelling of the cells. I think I will use 80/20 and plywood to build my battery box.

I have finally build my battery (See photos). Thank you all for your help! As I mentioned above I have JBD 250a bms with active balancer and discharge switch. Can you please check my BMS settings? This battery will be charged by Victron smart solar charge controller 100/30 and Victron blue...

Attaching few pictures of my battery in stainless steel group 27 battery box.The BMS as well as Victron BMV-712 smart battery monitor is attached to the lid of the box. My goal was to make the whole system removable therefore I am using Anderson powerpole connectors.
  • Post in thread: Overkill BMS (already owned) + NEEY gen 4 Active Balancer -OR- JK BMS w/ Active Balance?

I just purchased this for around $260 US. It will take some time to get here but I think it is worth it. https://mullerenergy.com.au/product/12v-250a-jbd-smart-bms-with-bluetooth/
  • Post in thread: CATL 302 damaged

Thank you! I just temporarily connected my Muller Energy BMS with active balancer and getting this. Seems that cells are quite nicely balanced, but not sure why I am seeing 250ah, since the cells should be 302ah.
  • Post in thread: CATL 302 damaged

I spoke with 18650 store yesterday, send email with pictures. Support got back to me in 2 hours stating the scratched cell is fine to use however the banded inward should not, They already sent replacement and it will be here tomorrow. Hoping the new one will be fine.
  • Post in thread: Simple wiring diagram for work/camper van

Can you please check my wiring diagram? I am using this van mostly for work however during summer I do occasional fishing trip. My usage is modest. I have tried Ecoflow Delta (1kwh) this summer and with my 355W solar panel never dropped below 65% and by 11am I was back to 100%, therefore I...
  • Post in thread: CATL 302 damaged

The new cell arrived today, it is in perfect condition. Just the voltage is little higher at 3.286V hopefully my 5A active balancer will take car of it. Thank you for all your help.
  • Post in thread: Help with new battery build

Thank you. I checked all connection and it is tight and all was cleaned with rubbing alcohol. I connected my battery to victron MPPT and was closely watching what is going. Attaching screen shots. It looks like all cells are very well balanced until 300.5Ah once it got to 302ah in went all over...

  • Post in thread: CATL 302 damaged

I just test it and you are correct it does carry positive voltage. Well the scratch is small not sure if I wanna talk to 18650 again about it. I will be using epoxy boards between the cells or I can get heat shrink wrap and install it over the cell. I will decide once I see the new cell...
  • Post in thread: SOK 208AHHeated vs LiTime Heated 200AH

I have been researching batteries for some time. Most of the LiTime do not have low temp charge protection and that is quite a issue for RV. Sok is little pricier, but I did not like the form factor. Was considering KILOVAULT 2400 HLX but could not find lot of info. Decided to build my own 300ah...
  • Post in thread: Best 280-304 to buy right now?

I am in the same situation. Either go with Docan or 18650. I also have one more option to buy from srikobatteries.com in person since I am in IL, just not sure what to look for besides bloating and perhaps test the voltage. Sriko currently have EVE 300ah and Lishen 272ah. Sriko informed me that...

  • Post in thread: Help with new battery build

I have just tried to charge my battery with Victron IP22 charger and everything went well until I hit 91%, my bms is showing alarm “cell over voltage protection” cell vent out of balance. BMS is showing 100% but victron shut is showing 91%. Prior hitting 91% shut and bms were showing similar...

I am running into issue properly sizing my MPPT for my solar panel.....I have one LG355N1C -V5 on my van and victron site is stating MPPT 100/30 however www.explorist.life is stating 100/50. Not sure what to choose? Also what would be proper size disconnect/isolator for my panel. Thank you!

    Yes it will be 12V
