Altestore.com clearance

This is not true. As I said, that was my ASSUMPTION AFTER THE FACT. At no time did she make that clear. I told her I did not accept the fact that they were canceling my order, and she told me that in that case, I'd have to call my credit card company to get a refund. I didn't understand what she meant by that comment at the time, but I do know that it only made me more angry.

And suppose that I *am* being injudicious & unfiar; still, is that how you would like someone to talk to you as a customer? Go take it up with your credit card company? It was BS and I stand by my rant.

And I'll add, it was going to be a lot more difficult for me to give her my cc number, (if thats what she wanted) AFTER SHE HUNG UP ON ME. And this was a call that lasted (checks phone) 1 minute 31 seconds. I hardly had enough time to even process what happened.

There is another option with respect to learning more about the company. They are licensed to do business in the state of Massachusetts.
Access the Massachusetts Secretary of State "Search for a Business Entity" website at

Enter "AltE" (without quotes) in the "Enter name:" box. Select "Full text" for the Search type then click the "Search Corporations" button.

The search will return "ALTE HOME SOLAR, LLC" with an address of ""330 CODMAN HILL RD. BOXBOROUGH, MA 01719 USA" which matches the address on their website.

You now can look at the "Business Entity Summary" and now you have some names. Just ask to speak with one of these folks and see what the response is. In addition you can pull up (and download) a number of reports which will provide you with additional info such as the actual LLC name "KILOVAULT, LLC"

Just make sure you are dealing with the actual/correct business.

If you are truly intent on pursuing the issue you can always file a complaint thru the Secretary Of State website.

I can say my new Morningstar mppt 45 that i ordered Friday night showed up today. $223

These are currently going for over $500

It arrived in perfect condition and is a brand new, unopened unit. I am very happy.

Alte doesn't store customer CC info. That's why they asked for your number to process the refund...

It stinks you didn't get the deal but you're taking this way to far in my opinion.

If you were a 'small' business owner and had a pricing mistake / inventory issue how would you handle it?

There have been countless times I've had orders canceled on amazon, HD, various tool sites, etc. due to a pricing or inventory error; yeah it stinks. Life is short, more important things to worry about.

I have ordered Samlex inverter today. I called before ordering to make sure they have it in stock and the unit is brand new. After reading this I hope I will receive it. Will post back once it arrives.

As for my FTC complaint, I may focus on the tidbit she dropped about them not honoring warranties on the clearance kilovault batteries. I'm not sure that's even legal, but either way it's incredibly sus.
Good thing that the vendor isn't the one providing most warranties. That responsibility is with the manufacturer.

Think about a new vehicle. The local dealer isn't the one doing free warranty work, they're being paid by the manufacturer to fix your car.

How about a TV? Unless you buy from Costco, you'll probably get told to call Samsung, not Walmart.

All of this feels like a giant over reaction by a consumer to a company's outdated website. Best of luck to you with your lawsuits.

FWIW, I believe that the KiloVault products are produced by the Altestore themselves. And I dont have any lawsuits, I have customer complaints with the authorities that are supposed to protect customers from maltreatment. And yes, I might be overreacting. But if I am, it's in the interests of fellow customers who might get treated like trash by the altestore!

Well, actually, I do work in a small business, and when we have pricing errors, we always side with the customer. And in case it isn't 100% clear, this is a situation where THEY CALLED ME AND CONFIRMED THE ORDER, AND TOLD ME IT WOULD SHIP, and then CANCELED LATER. That's not a mistake, that's malfeasance or extreme carelessness, it's dirty and cheap. It's toying with people's emotions.

Maybe so. But emotions don't trump facts. And if they had no more inventory, they cannot fill the order.

Yeah they could have an updated website.
Yeah they could have handled it better.
Yeah they could learn something from it.

But the fact still remains that they ran out of inventory.

Sometimes it is better to just recognize the fact, sigh in disappointment, and move on. Throwing a fit and getting all angry because someone got to a super sale before you did doesn't do anyone any good.

My 3 cents. I adjusted for inflation a teensy bit. Still worth less than my 2 cents 3 years ago.

Sorry...

Errors happen. It stinks.
Everyone's emotions are different I guess.

Hopefully you can find another deal that's to good to be true and it goes through for you.

During the phone call where they confirmed the order, they told me they would have mine shipped straight from the manufacturer.

Emotional attachment to solar equipment..... the struggle is real!

I dont make a lot of money. I saved for eight years to buy my current equipment. Make fun of me if you wish. It did mean a lot to me, to have been promised one at such a good price.

Sorry i wasn't making fun of you specifically, we all have the same problem on here. We all get way too excited about new solar stuff! Its probably not healthy 😅 but I am in this category as well.

I purchased 3 Kilovault HLX+ batteries form them on this "clearance sale". I didn't realize it was because Kilovault was going out of business, warranties wouldn't be honored, no tech support, etc. Had I realized that I may not have made the purchase. At this point, hopefully these batteries will work just fine and all will be well. I just need to figure out why they seem to want different charge voltages from other brands.
