Great to hear it's approved! I was only able to get the SG03 when asking a few different suppliers. Not sure what the difference is exactly. Heavier and taller is good. The unit generates enough heat already, and without a fan, the heavier unit with the bigger heatsink will last longer.
  • Post in thread: Lishen 272ah Cells Aluminum Case Positive?

Yep I think I'll be rebuilding my home solar battery with some 1mm neoprene rubber insulation between cells, and I'll do that with the ATV battery too. Better to be safe than sorry.
  • Post in thread: Racking issues with old barn

Instead of making somekind of right-angle attachments, just get 2 pieces of extra rail for each panel at the bottom, cut them to size and attach them perpendicular to the long rail and use the normal attachments to attach the panels. Fixing the long rail to the short should be easy with some...
  • Post in thread: Are we all getting GRADE B cells??

That's a shame. There's nothing wrong with grade B cells. Just wish the sellers were honest about it. Most people would still buy
  • Post in thread: Help one cell charging discharging to fast

Sounds pretty balanced. Not sure whats going on with the bouncing though. Shouldnt do that. Does it bounce only when you touch the setup or move leads? Perhaps a poor connection
  • Post in thread: Overcharged EVE 280aH cells to 4.1V

When I built my first pack a year years ago, i accidentally overcharged one 272Ah Lishen cell to 4.2V from being inpatient. The cell wasn't compressed. It swelled up pretty badly, but it still held a good voltage and capacity test was ok. Its still sitting unused on my shelf as I luckily ordered...
  • Post in thread: Has anyone used that Chinese Capacity Tester Will used on his video?

From the pictures, you're seeing a voltage drop across the leads due to the load. This is why the newer tester model has 2 separate leads for voltage sensing. Oversize all your cables. Make sure there's solid connection between the battery and cables, and the tester unit. When draining a large...
  • Post in thread: Australia - Group buy - DEYE 5kw hybrid (Aus approved)

Yep they sure do. I'm getting 3 of them to run parallel for an offgrid rural property.
  • Post in thread: Varicore scratch bar code

If you bought cells for $20 each on aliexpress then you've probably fallen for one of the many scam sellers there. Let us know if you ever get any cells from them!
  • Post in thread: Help me understand please

I live in QLD Australia too, and have built my own battery bank and inverter that can easily run an AC system. If you're persistent, its not hard to follow the instructional videos and wire up your own bank. If you're near or want to come to the Gold Coast, I can help you with this. Then all you...
  • Post in thread: Watch out for fraudulent LIFEPO4 200AH "NEW A-GRADE" CALB cells

Wow, seeing that picture of 48 batteries delivered and all swollen is very sad and disheartening. I can only imagine how you must feel! This makes me even more likely to just go back to Shenzen Luyuan for my next batch of cells. Pay a little extra and have the peace of mind and not have to...
  • Post in thread: LifePO4 Long-term Storage

Unless you have a parasitic drain on the battery, you don't really need a float. They say you shouldn't leave trickle chargers on LiFePO4 anyway. I'd leave it unplugged and top up charge every 6 months or so.
  • Post in thread: Watch out for fraudulent LIFEPO4 200AH "NEW A-GRADE" CALB cells

Name and shame your seller, and link the URL you used to buy the cells etc.
  • Post in thread: Backup down under

The old AC systems are terribly inefficient. I've got 2 small 2kw AC split systems, one on each end of the house. In this weather, the AC in the bedroom easily keeps the room frosty enough for sleeping and uses only about 600w continuously. The old ducted system used to use about 5kw and did a...
  • Post in thread: Backup down under

It's very satisfying to see what effect good PV and a battery has! My bill was roughly $750 per quarter before PV, $300 per quarter with just PV and is now about $40 per quarter with PV and 45kwh of lifepo4 storage. (In QLD). Next step is to get an 8kw inverter and wire it up as pass through so...
  • Post in thread: Has anyone used that Chinese Capacity Tester Will used on his video?

The Chinese provided leads are often of poor quality; ie not pure copper, but instead CCA, and have very thick insulation and little conductor material. The thickness of the conductor + coating is misleading due to the large coating. The newer model has buttons instead of the turn knobs, and...
  • Post in thread: Watch out for fraudulent LIFEPO4 200AH "NEW A-GRADE" CALB cells

I think he's just joking mate. All tongue in cheek. I feel like it's pretty common knowledge on this forum, to not buy cells off aliexpress as they're all scams.
  • Post in thread: Off-grid Solar / Battery monitoring and control freeware

Is someone able to make an extended cheat sheet for those that aren't familiar with Unix commands? Ideally one that you follow line by line and leaves no guessing or googling commands
  • Post in thread: Deye pulling from grid whilst solar generate excess electricity

Did you ever get this fixed?
  • Post in thread: Solarpowerd mining farm. what equidment

It sounds like you need to go to YouTube, and watch a few videos on the BASICS of energy transmission, batteries and the relevant terms etc. Will Prowse has a few good basics videos. For starters, your request for 500-1000amps, alongside the large confusion you exhibit with your units and...
  • Post in thread: Off-grid Solar / Battery monitoring and control freeware

I have looked thru the whole thread and also the github. I can't find a clear example of the chargery connection. Nor a picture. One person mentions red to pin 3 and black to ground, which is what I've tried. Doesn't work. There are only 2 wires coming out of com3. Which port are you using from...
  • Post in thread: my electric bill is going up 33%

Yep I know. I have a Deye myself. Just wrote solark for the Americans where Deye may be hard to get. Great to see mppsolar also has time of use now.
  • Post in thread: Backup down under

I think powering the aircon would be the biggest priority in this weather! Yes a transfer switch is on the eventual to do list. Currently if the grid goes down its only a few wires to swap over and ill be back up in 5min. Blackouts are very rare here though. Maybe once every few years. Yea huge...
  • Post in thread: All grid tied inverters in UK/EU/US/AUS limited to 5.5kW?

Wow that graph is amazing. Where do you get such good data? Wonder if QLD has such a thing.
  • Post in thread: Off-grid Solar / Battery monitoring and control freeware

Thanks Don. So there is nothing when I cat USB0. Which I presume means there is no data incoming at all from the USB... Time to do some research on interfacing between the two.
  • Post in thread: JK 4S 200A BMS Electrical Noise

Yes would like @Nami to comment if this is the case and if there is a fix
  • Post in thread: JK 4S 200A BMS Electrical Noise

    Woops double post
  • Post in thread: Luyuan EVE 280 cells dropped to 280 AH capacity after just 5 cycles?

But I presume you got fully matched cells (which itself is not cheap normally), and the LF280K model which should technically have more cycles. These batteries are known to test slightly higher the first few times they are cycled.
  • Post in thread: Australia - Group buy - DEYE 5kw hybrid (Aus approved)

Thanks for the detailed answer! Yep I'm looking for an inverter that's Australia approved and will do net zero export with a CT sensor. 48v battery system, single phase property power. Roughly how much did you get yours for? Definitely interested in that fella's contact details. What area he...

Ive got a 16s BMS, which is why I changed the code as advised. Here is the output of the script with debug mode:
