I am interested in safely using MCBs (mini circuit breaker) wherever possible in my solar setup; however after reading all the threads and web search matches I can find on the subject, I would like to clarify the following:
Questions
1. Is there a way to test for polarized vs. non-polarized...
With respect,
1. I do not trust manufactures data when purchasing from overseas. In this case I wish to confirm proper operation myself by physically testing.
2. If I trusted the salesperson I wouldn't be here. I made this post because I don't trust the salesperson, and am looking for practical...
The current prices right now in Super September from Amy are
8pcs of 280K (6000 cycles) model = $1247 including shipping
16pcs of 280K (6000 cycles) model = $2408 including shipping
24pcs of 280K (6000 cycles) model = $3558 including shipping
It isn't the cheapest option on Alibaba, but is well...
It would not cause damage, as long as you have the correct cut-off voltage set on your controller. It would go up to that voltage on the higher charged one, and then stop. The weaker one would continue to charge, and then stop once it reaches the cutoff voltage, per your controller settings.
It is the "JBD Smart 7S-20S 200A with Bluetooth+UART BMS". This is the link, but I think they updated the design a bit: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Smart-BMS-8S-12S-16S-20S_1600296495265.html
I paid $87.90 in September, 2021
I believe this app can be used with all JBD BMS devices...
@SeaGal Thank you for your advice! I used an old 12v accessory truck light I had laying around with wires already connected, and worked on the offending high voltage cells while charging them up to the cutoff point. It's been a few days now and my issues have been resolved! Cell #13 runs just a...
Could you please explain why so we can learn? If the breaker is indeed non-polarized, and does not direct the arc with magnets in one direction only, why would there be fireworks? I genuinely would like to know.
I also want to clarify that the TAIXI 150A breakers in my original post are the...
Good to know. I've never heard of Ganfeng, and didn't get a quote for those. I looked at everything I could find on youtube and forums for the REPT 280s, and scratched my head trying to figure out what I was missing. They seem like an amazing value, and guaranteed to be over 280Ah capacity...
I ended up ordering two of the larger MCCB (Moulded Case Circuit Breakers). I will test to the best of my ability upon arrival, but I don't think I have a way to test more than about 120A load.
1. TAIXI DC12V 24V 48V 250A Moulded Case Circuit Breaker Battery 100A 200A 300A 400A 600A MCCB Car...
@BenFromSignatureSolar Could uneven lengths of battery cables cause error 08? My + and - battery cables were previously inconsistent lengths, and I noticed the load numbers on the inverter did not make sense, as well as getting Error 08 when charging the battery from grid power.
I cannot say...
New - Never Hooked Up
My Dad had this racking system installed by SolarMounts last fall. He died of the virus shortly after, and was never able to finish the solar project. There are 42 ZnShine 450W bifacial panels installed, which are also for sale as well as some other items.
Price
$175 /...
For sale is a new system, never hooked up. Most items such as charge controllers, batteries, battery rack etc. are still unopened in their original boxes.
Thank you so much. Loss can be quite tough at times, and prayers to you and your family as well.
Thank you for the offer, but due to the situation we are looking for someone who can take all 42 of them, or the entire solar system including racking. I will definitely keep this offer in mind...
@BenFromSignatureSolar I have a couple questions regarding the EG4 3kW Off-Grid Inverter
1. Will Prowse has shown the "normal" idle consumption for this unit, but I understand there is a standby mode that offers lower consumption. What is the idle consumption when in standby mode?
2. Is a...
The way the pallet numbers worked out, I ended up with 13 Sunpower 435W panels, and I need to figure out how to wire this odd number of panels. Here are the panel specs.
Model: SPR-E20-435-COM
Nominal Power: 435 W
Power Tolerance: +5/−3%
Avg. Panel Efficiency: 20.3%
Rated Voltage (Vmpp)...
I assume you are running LED lights. Do you have any LED light dimming issues when other loads power on? I'm running ONE Growatt 5000ES and have pretty bad LED light dimming/pulsing whenever another moderate load comes on. The startup pulsing phase of the clothes washer makes the light situation...
After running my OrangePi 3 LTS purchased pre-configured directly from Solar Assistant mid-July, I'm now getting exactly the same message. One day it worked, the next day it didn't.
Did anyone here find a fix?
PS: Solar Assistant is Amazing. WELL worth the money. I'm disappointed that an issue...
