    Eclipse 2024

Didn't get total here, SE Mich. It got a little dimmer. I have the panels on a solar tracker, as it got close to the darkest it was gonna get, the tracker went into nite mode. About 20 or so mins later it found the sun again. We did have nice clear skies tho.

Oregon right to repair excludes energy story systems

Laws like this aren't written or usually not even reviewed by politicians. Lobbyists' lawyers write the law, hand it to the pols and say pass it, we'll donate to your campaign.

    Solar mission creep.

Scope creep -- lets not go there. I started with a really old Tektronix 535. Then went to a 545B, then all hell broke loose. I sold a couple, gave a couple away and I'm finally down to 11 scopes, all but 3 are Tek ranging from audio to 1GHz samplers with touchscreens. I have more than one of...

    Sumry HGX-4KW

I recently got the last available Sumry 4KW AIO that was listed on ebay. I have it installed and it seems to be working ok so far. It's only been in service for a couple of days so that may or may not change. While I still have yet to figure out the manufacturer of it, there's a 120 volt...

Test run with a small system first?

I saw some other comments regarding the Sumry. There are two versions, 230 volt and 120 volt (different wattage versions for both as well). Sumry is the only one I've found for 120v. PowMr has a 4.5 and 6.5kw 230 volt version. I found no online version of the 120 v manual but did find one...

Test run with a small system first?

    Inverter with moes ats

I have the MOES thing and while it switched nice between grid and inverter, when the inverter went into alarm and cut off (more on that after I send it back for a refund) the MOES thing did NOT switch back to grid. It figures if the battery is good, there must be AC so it never switched back...

For those using an inverter and not an all in one, how do you grid charge?

24V. I'm mainly concerned with a charger and external mppt connected to the batteries.

For those using an inverter and not an all in one, how do you grid charge?

Subject says it all. Every separate system I see a schematic for only shows the battery, inverter and mppt controller. None show any grid charging. What's used for grid charging in this situation? The SCC in my system is PWM and I'd like to use a separate MPPT and turn off the internal...
