I have the master battery set to sol-ark protocol and they are in communication with the inverter. I just want to out the correct information in all of the boxes on my inverter. I found the resistance for each battery on the QC (quality control sheet) from the factory. It’s 7.55 on one...
My system consists of two Sol-Ark 15ks in parallel, with 3 EG4 Power Pro's, and 6 EG4 LLV2's shared to both inverters. So far everything is working great. Had to do about 3-4 deep cycles (80% depth of discharge minimum) to calibrate the BMS between all batteries
I have my two 15k's talking to solar assistant and I know how to change the setting to view them both. I also have the smart shunt connected to the pi but I can't figure out the setting to view it remotely.... what setting do you use when you switch to the victron smart shunt? Thanks in advance
Received shipping info on my three EG4 Power Pro UL certified batteries this morning. I guess the ship that was stuck in the Panama Canal got through finally and the batteries have past the certification
I like playing mad scientist with solar gear as much as the next guy but I'm trying to understand the practical application of this setup.... other than have redundancy for an off grid situation. The title was a bit confusing as well since the 18Kpv has a grid input already. I can see the...
I do have them talking to each other... but as I've noticed on many post PV Pro and the Sol-Ark basically see my three LL batteries I currently have connected as one bit battery. I already ordered the Solar Assistant orange Pi already loaded and will set things when it gets here so I can see...
If you read my description carefully the two battery banks will not be connected at the same time to the inverters that’s why I would need to disconnect the power pro batteries prior to connecting the rack so as not to void warranty. Hopefully the guys at EG4/SS can get them compatible at some...
Make sure all batteries are up to date on firmware on both com ports, and that each battery is set to the Sol-Ark protocol. On the subject of the 2/0 cable part of your post….
You can either buy a 2/0 multi tap connector and extend each cable with 2/0 cable you will purchase
Or
Do what I...
The disconnect of the PP batteries is so I don’t void the warranty on them. It seems that some time in the future that will change. They should be able to tweak the software to accommodate this situation. If you watch any Will Prowse videos his current shop setup is very similar to mine but...
That would not only help me with my setup but I’m sure it would be a great way to increase sales with cross comparability. If it were my company I’d be pushing for it… instant marketing too.
But I’m sure sales isn’t an issue right now
???
As far as aesthetics go I agree its a great look... I'm still waiting on my 3 Power Pro batteries to pass UL certification to connect them to my two Sol-Ark 15k's in parallel. My setup was inspired by your latest setup with the 18kpv. Once thing I did find out in ordering my setup.... the...
Same here from Solar Sovereign... I've been waiting on Power Pro UL batteries since 8-17-23.... I've been told the UL certification has been held up and that's the problem.
I’ve been trying to find an answer on how exactly do you ground 6 EG4 LL V2 batteries in the rack. Do you run a ground wire from each battery to a lug attached to the rack and then ground the rack, or daisy chain the grounding lugs on each battery with the last one going to the lug on the rack...
James, I have a grounding question regarding the use of the Chargeverter through the internal bus bars paralleled in 3 Power Pro batteries...
1. When my 3 PP batteries are connected to the system as the main battery bank they will be grounded by the system, but if I'm charging them via their...
So I don’t need to update the power pros for my Sol-Ark 15Ks? I do have V2’s in my rack… so if I update them with the LL S firmware they can work with the power pros and have coms? How do I set DIP switches ??
I’m trying to setup my Sol-Ark 15k with the APSmart RSD and I’d love to know what 12 volt transformer you used. I know the Sol-Ark can’t power it. I’m stuck…
Anyone have there EG4 Power Pro batteries installed outside your home and are experiencing extremely cold weather? Wondering if you are having issues. Personally I would never put them outside even though they are rated for it. It's freezing outside my house for the past two days but I have my...
Why don't you just connect one 48v battery to one Delta Pro via the solar charge input utilizing the charge controller and doing the same thing with the other Delta Pro? That way you don't ruin your batteries.
On the Sol-Ark 15k battery setup discharge tab it asks for Battery Resistance. I can’t find that in the specs for the EG4 Power Pro batteries or the EG4 LL V2 batteries. It’s not in the manuals.
Anyone know where I can find the answers? Top right in the picture
Ok my fine forum folks I sent the same question to Signature Solar and they sent this reply
“As long as the battery bank is connected to the inverter properly and the inverter is grounded properly, the batteries and the rack themselves do not need any grounding wires as it will all be grounded...
After updating the firmware on all the batteries they've been running great. I have recently had a few times when the inverter is sending energy to the grid with the batteries not at 100%. I'm about to do a experiment to see if its the BMS from the battery not communicating properly on...
I asked pretty much the same question in the following linked thread and got a reply from the owner of EG4.... you would use the generator to power the Chargeverter.

Copy that I'm crystal clear now. I can't wait to do an experiment to see if a rack of 6 EG4 LL V2 batteries can daisy chain communications with 3 of the new EG4 Power Pro wall batteries. I already know that I can't have them connected in parallel with my 15k's without voiding the warranty...
That makes a lot of sense… I posted the same question in the FB forum for EG4 users and the answers are all over the place. I wish the manufacturer or distributors would clarify what properly grounding means as referred to in the manual.
I’m running two Sol-Ark 15Ks in parallel. If the slave craps out will the Master keep running as long as the loads are within range of one unit or will the system shut down. And if the master shuts down, for some reason, will the slave takeover as long as the loads are within the limits of one...
Anyone using the Blue Sea System Power Bar 1000A as a main bus bar for paralleling LifePo battaries? The cover that comes with this buss bar is really nice but its a royal pain to get off even outside of the wiring trough. Once I install it into the wiring trough it will be nearly impossible...
Just a heads up if anyone is considering using Solar Assistant with the Sol-Ark 15k and the EG4 Power Pro batteries (they use the same BMS as the EG4 LL batteries) or the EG4 LL V2 batteries the splitter will cause BMS issues. Wish it weren’t so because I love SA and the frequency it poles the...
Setting up the AC side of a system with two Sol-Ark 15Ks in parallel and have seen people using PDB’s (power distribution box or blocks) and was wondering what PDB are being used to share the load, grid, and AC coupled solar connections? There are so many different kinds it’s confusing
It was checked before I contacted Sol-ark. Trevor set it to lead acid to stop from any further errors and had me disconnect the com until I could talk to you guys
