The Deye unit gets hot! when running - to the point I couldn't hold my hand on it.
This doesnt go well for longevity - drying out caps & degrading their life (Arrhenius equation)
So i've been running some 120mm fans just plonked on top - but now i've made a fan shroud/unit that can be put under...
Just designed & printed this case for the 8s 100A overkill BMS. (i used the Aliexpress version DJDD? for the template - hope there's no differences?)
There's 2-3mm between the heat spreaders & the case, i also use ASA/ABS to print with for heat resistance.
I'll be posting up on Thingyverse &...
Broke out into a focus group, re-imagined the design then shifted a few paradigms...
New design - now features ribs which clip onto the 20mm bus bars, holding the caps secure in place.
In the old design they just sat on top & could be bumped off etc.
They also allow side access to the bar for...
I've been running a Gen2 Vue for a while now - love it.
its accurate (comparing to fronius inverter), does import/export on mains & any link labelled "solar/generation" (theyre working on others and has been super useful.
Its a great package, has a HUGE amount of inputs - i'm using 14 right now...
Correct - it can do that.
There's 3 modes:
Selling first: Power loads & charge battery, then anything else exports to the Grid (configurable max feed in power). Load power priority is Solar, grid, battery.
Zero export to load: only power backup load, dont power house or feed into the grid (uses...
ahhh - yeah no issues with any of that, checked all that thoroughly during install. Everything super secure etc.
Just got some new breakers that are to local standards... $140 vs $40... they are huge & weigh a ton... so doubt i'll have issues.
Thead was also an FYI to do thermal checks & be...
FYI - some updated dates... I'm just copy & pasting, unsure of why the date for the 5 is duplicated, and the diff between 6 & 6k :/
But some rough guidance -
"
Single phase 3/3.6/5/6K is end of April;
Single phase 5/6/7.6/8K is June;
Three phase 5/6/8/10/12K is end of March.
"
bwahahahaha
From looking around - it seems to be really focused around reactive power management & being able to throttle the output down during periods of high solar PV output, for grid stabilization.
The old models could do everything & have the features, but the old standard never checked for...
No - thats not the case & that was the whole issue i was working around. The others werent close & would take AGES in parallel, in small batches of serial its much faster
There definitely IS a fan (or multiple) inside!
If you take off the front cover, you can look up & see it facing onto some capacitors. So it seems its circulating the air inside & relying on the aluminium body & heatsink to extract the heat.
Unsure how that fan would/could disrupt internal...
The Sofar is an option! & pretty well priced
It cant treat LiFePO4 like SLA, but can work well with SLA & has proper temp controls etc.
EDIT: Sofar HYD 3k-6k EP series
OK - think I figured out whats happening...
Here's my diagram as to why HIGH voltage cells are causing neighbouring cells to read HIGHER.
Of course its most likely that its the balance cables and the BMS (NOT the balancer) Internals that are getting pulled high & low, due to the impedance of...
The App allows you to monitor by the second (which i use frequently!), and there's about a 4 second delay - so its pretty much live. I used it to map out every power point & light to my circuit breakers in the house.
The sensors are generic, look for KCT10 clamps, 50A / 0.333v - The '10'...
I've done some DIY small scale plating in my time...
If its all black - then ease back your current, too much current will make it bubble & go black. There should be minimal bubbling from the surfaces when plating. You also need some water flow if possible - use an aquarium bubbler or pump to...
UNSW has long been a global leader in solar efficiency records, having held the solar cell efficiency record for several decades."
You are incorrect & didnt bother to look into it - this is scientific research from the group that have been global leaders in Photovoltaics for decades.
In terms...
careful on those converters - they dont do anywhere near the rated power & go pop easily.
I used one on my solar battery charger & got no where near the rated current.
FYI - Install manual has the details... Shows Aus/NZ vs others
On the Synsynk p27: https://sunsynk.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/3.6kW-5kW-Installer-Manual-v14-Australia-FINAL.pdf
Yeah I dont seen an issue brining them down to 300 at all, as the cooling is done vertically on the units - just watch the cabling issues maybe.
Parallel on a single phase - i think you'll have to link them, which means the state & configuration across all of them will be sync'd.
i.e. you...
yeah 100%.
This chart has been floating about & is quite popular - https://diysolarforum.com/threads/lifepo4-24v-voltage-chart.22388/
I wanted to get something that was closer to realistic conditions. Its not an exact answer - but an answer based on a lot more data & sound research work.
It seems you have been breaking into my garage...
If i posted up the last month of what I have been through it is EXACTLY the same...
I bought 8 cells from Hayley.... 1 was a different colour & slightly less capacity... 7 were over the stated 300Ah capacity
i also did a spring setup very...
use a hobby supply!!!! these things are so much better.... do balancing & have huge throughput etc...

life chemistry, 1.5A balance current.... 20A charge current, configurable voltages ... they're superb, cheap &...
100% agree with you, my peak usage is 2-3,000W per phase - so those units would cover it. I have mine paired with a Victron charge controller & everything works well. They are unbeatable value for money & solid performance.
There is a 24v unit that appears to be new (230v though) the...
A post for Aus customers that are on AusGrid... raising some awareness!
AusGrid have new tariffs that are INSANELY good for batteries - and i'm sure many other fellow DIY battery nerds would benefit.
The details:
Ausgrid EA960 & EA959
The Ausgrid tariff is a trial residential two-way tariff...
Need a PSU - use this:
Vigortronix
VTX-214-005-112
VTX-214-PCB1
You can just put that inside the unit - double sided tape to stick it on the isolator switch works well. The wires then run out the grommets in the bottom nice & cleanly.
I did hook it up to the grid port - BUT, i'm about to...
