The 2020+ Prime Rav4s have 18+ kWh battery packs & the 2020+ Prime Prius's are ~9 kWh. As I mentioned above the "Prime" variants are Plug-In Hybrids (PHEVs) with more than basic Hybrids. Again I do NOT think these are ideal for V2H but the Plug-In Prime variants are not exactly the same as...
In the corner of my Texas garage I have two 200 amp breaker panels and I am thinking of putting on the wall next to them a Sol-Ark 12K, 2 critical loads panels, gutters, & related components (cutoff switches, etc) and on the ground under the Sol-Ark a 6 rack for EG4 batteries (solar panels will...
If I understand correctly the Sportsman GEN85KIDF can do electrical start:
https://generatorbible.com/generators/sportsman/gen85kidf/
One of the reviewers got his from Home Depot on sale for $1049 & then added an electrical start battery (he said paid $70 for the battery but maybe is is...
LDS_Reliance, BTW, I like your videos on YouTube...
Are either Rhinovoltz or MillerTech batteries UL Certified?
MillerTech seems to be only car battery sized units like this:
https://www.mtechlithium.com/collections/lithium-batteries/products/12-volt-100ah-lithium-battery
This kind of form...
What needs to be discussed?
Why would a bolted configuration in a protective metal roll cage that allows self-repair down the line be a worse approach?
Progress-wise we first cleared that garage corner by taking down shelving & taking down mounted bike racks, mounted Fibre Optic termination point for the house (that was currently not in use as we temporarily switched to Cable Modem), & rerouted garage door opener wires/etc... We also mounted...
Interesting discussion (I tried to read and follow it all).
For some of us the cost/payback isn't a factor and we just want to be able to have power when the grid is down...
I didn't see this posted before in this thread but while reading this thread I remembered seeing that Sol-Ark is...
Thanks again for all the good info. Hopefully Emporium ends up providing a way that the system can be monitored/maintained in a true internet down or even worse full grid down situation. I really like that https://www.iotawatt.com/ is fully Open Source so the community can verify no...
I think either a Delta-Pro or AC300 based system should serve your situation pretty well. Assuming both have about the same round-trip efficiency I think both have their pros/cons so I hope I don't come across as against the Delta-Pro approach...
Personally I would go with either of them over...
Yeah it needs to be dual fuel or at least propane for me. For safety & storage reasons I am not interested gasoline only and I don't have natural gas as an option at any of my properties.
My goals would be to give my home additional battery capacity during an extended outage which I think is similar to what the OP is looking for...
OP/others in this thread. I have also researched and thought about this quite a bit and most of what I saw required Chademo and multiple vendors...
I would check the manuals and the Sol-Ark website. In addition there was some discussion in this thread:
https://diysolarforum.com/threads/sol-ark-12k-with-small-generator.31716/
Is SUB short for providing power to loads priority-wise first from Solar, then Utility, then Battery?
If you have grid power & set SUB & the sun goes down does the inverter switch to just bypass mode to provide power from Utility only and shut down the inverter & thus have less Watts...
Yeah unfortunately that seems to be the current situation (pun somewhat intended ;-) ).
If the Ford F150 can do clean 240v AC with enough power it could maybe input to the GEN port on a Sol-Ark (if my memory is correct it needs at least 4KW and prefers 5-10KW).
Thanks for the info. Here in Texas I have only been asked about UL 1973. Interesting that California is only tracking UL 1973 on it's list of approved Batteries for Solar:
https://solarequipment.energy.ca.gov/Home/BatteryList
If you click on 'Download Excel file' they have 3 columns tracking...
Quite possibly. I only was aware of it because I subscribe to Engineer775's youtube channel and noticed he listed it on his website (www.PracticalPreppers.com) and did not go looking for lower prices elsewhere... Note that I have only seen him offer/install SolArks so when I saw that he also...
I was thinking of buying 2+ LVX6048WPs. In reading this thread it seemed a mix of both LVX6048WP & LVX6048 so a little confused.
Is the LVX6048WP a high frequency or low frequency inverter?
Does the LVX6048WP have the roughly the same idle draw as the LVX6048 (~135W each)?
Anyone have a...
We have a Prius Prime and may get a Rav4 Prime & I wanted them because of their hybrid engines with plug in capability. Their plug-in ranges are fine for basic/regular local trips to/from school/store/Church and their hybrid engines let them do long road trips without needing to recharge. Not...
It has been awhile but my recollection is that CCS has been evolving to allow 2 way flows...
The following video is the one I mentioned above which is a PHEV that provides supplemental power to the home. If my memory is correct he indicated his Tesla Powerwall gives him 1-2 days of battery...
Are you saying it needs a Rasberry PI and are you talking about this? :
https://github.com/pbix/HA-solark-PV
Sorry I got a little confused in the thread and wanted to clarify.
Yeah dcbel's r16 seems to have all (or at least most of) the components though it isn't clear what flexibility, if any, there is around the house battery (size/vendor/etc).
If you find out it is actually available please post back here. I may try reaching out to them as well.
In reading the comments to that video it was never answered, even though it was asked multiple times whether for the Sol-Ark if "...the setting for this test was done with [default] 100a or [with] the changed setting of 185a..."?
If the settings were incorrect likely it would be more fair to...
