@FilterGuy
If I understand well then just unpluging the balance cables from the BMS is enough
My intension is to disconnect the main positive and negative from the rest of the system
@upnorthandpersonal , thanks I misunderstand it (y)
@Cal, that is a good idea, the D+ to the relay and from the relay to the BMS so when the alternator runs the relay switch the DC-DC charger !
A manual switch in the D+ cable is alway good just incase.
@DJSmiley, I don´t have a D+on my 2011 Ducato and I don´t know if you have one otherwise you...
You are right (y) - my misunderstanding. :mad:
The 40A version is a 500W version divided by 12,5V is 40A but divided bij 14,7V is 34A
So it will charge the LFP with 34A but take 40A out of the alternator
Is this correct ?
Oeps lot of answers today (y) I try to read them all
I know that the Renogy need a D+ wire and I can make a switch in the line but I also have a BMV700 and maybe that one can switch the Renogy if the battery is 90% ful.
Otherwise the LifePo4 have a BMS which is between the battery and the BMV700...
Thanks for your reply.
DPP is that the same as DDP which is Delivery Duty Pay ?
Those commodity cells are they good for a 12V RV battery ?
I check the Heltec BMS but the undervoltage protection is at 2,1V which is far to low.
Am I wrong ? Do you have a link to a good one ?
By the way, the BMS...
@DJSmiley
The BMV is also off and the 20Ah loss is what I read in the app from the BMS and balancing is active
@Steve_S
I have this BMS and as far as I know without any pins
I have a mainswitch in the + cable from the LFP and I switch it off
I only have BT to read the BMS
How did I connect the...
Thanks.
An other question, I have a Renogy DCC booster 40A in the van and my question is if I drive the alternator deliver the power for the start (lead-acid) battery and for the LFP house battery through the booster.
If the alternator voltage drop down to 13,6V does the booster raise the...
Just back from the RV and nothing has change since I disconnect the AC-DC charger from Renogy
So problem is solved.
Picture shows the different between sept.27 and today
Confirm the video from Will it looks like the Victron smart battery sense only works for low temperature, is that so ?
I thought it was also for overcharging by the MPPT ?
I build my 280Ah LFP and want to use my existing MPPT 75/15 but I don´t have the smart battery sense so I don´t know if I...
I am just back from the RV and could not find so much.
The only think what took 5mA was the AC-DC from Renogy which I have permanently connected to the LFP
I disconnect it just to see if that helps.
When I left I saw on the BMS app that the capacity went down to 227Ah so that is 3Ah in 3 days...
When I connect the ignition wire to a Renogy DCC1212-20 and start the engine will it directly connect the 2 batteries or is there some delay in connecting ?
I prefer a delay of a few seconds.
May I ask, did it take 5 days to charge it from 3,44V to full at 3,65V ?
What is the best way to balance : parallel or serie ?
If parallel I have to buy a similair charger but if in serie goes faster or better I can charge then with the 20A Renogy AC-DC charger
For your information my 4 x 280Ah...
I have no problem but I am looking for an explanation.
I have a LFP of 280Ah in combination with a Renogy DCDC 40A and a Renogy AC charger 20A
When I drive with my RV the DCDC booster charge my LFP perfectly, no errors or what ever
When I charge the LFP with the AC charger I always get an alarm...
I have a Ducato selfmade RV model x250 from 2011 with a 220 traction battery which I want to replace for a Lifepo4 battery which I want to make myself with the help of the youtube movies from Will.
I am busy to calculate what I need and stock on 2 questions : which BMS do I need and do I need a...
@upnorthandpersonal thanks for the notice.
I don´t understand this :
Storing them at low temperatures is certainly much better than storage at high temperatures.
Calendar aging slows down dramatically at low temperatures.
It say it is better to store them at low temperatures and later it say it...
I am busy to calculate an off grid system with PV panels in combination with 2 LFP batteries of 300Ah
It is for a vacationhouse without power in the north of Sweden, around Östersund
Because we are mostly there during the summer I am intent to disconnect the LFP and store them in the house...
I think (hope) that my alternator can handle the 40A version and looking at the German price maybe it is worth to buy the 40A version
Before I order it I have to know if my alternator can handle the 40A version but as far as I can see the lowest alternator is 100A and I think my Ducato 2,3-120hp...
