Thanks (y)
I thought the sense also protect overcharging from the MPPT but that is not so, therefor I must trust the BMS ;)?
In practise there is no difference between the black or bleu version just the BT distance ?
I don´t know any specs because I don´t have them yet, I am orienting what is possible
For my RV I have these but for my vacationhouse I think about 300Ah or bigger like these
Thanks for the link to the warmer which does not drain the battery, that is good.
But the PV is 24V - 20W and the warmer...
I hope I did not spent that money for nothing ?
And I try to watch untill the alarm came up but ... I try it again
Look at my setup maybe that explain and you can advice me
I finish my LFP with the BMS and going to install it in the RV but I have a question about the Victron BP65A
Does the BP make any sense with a LFP / BMS ?
As soon as the battery is under voltage the BMS should switch off and as far as what I understand that is what the BP also do.
Maybe I am...
I am also worried when the battery is full and the charger keep charging, does that not damage the LifePo battery ?
This is what Renogy helpdesk wrote me :
It will not stop automatically when the LifePo4 is full. It will continue to charge with a small current if it keeps on charging.
I have seen and read that but I was curious if it take 5 days to charge it from 3,44v to 3,65v
I can not find an advice if parallel of serie is better of faster
Thank you for the advice, I will set it up tomorrow and went to bed because I travel all day and it is 2AM here
By the way, could this be the "problem" that the AC charger trigger one or more cells ?
@Bud Martin, no I have not yet order the cells. I am calculate everything so I know what everything cost and if I get everything I need.
I suspect that the shipping cost is what is in the advertise on Alibaba ($126,70 for the US and $129,80 to the Netherlands)
But before I order I send them a...
I did read it but maybe not carefully enough so I download it and read it again, thanks and I follow it.
I also going to buy this 10A charger, I don´t know the size of the leads but I will replace them. Is 8 agw good or should I use 6 or 4 ?
I connect the shunt to the BMS so all electricity goes through the shunt and BMS
I have a 265Wp PV on the roof in combination with a Victron MPPT 75/15
By the way, the Renogy DC-DC 20A don´t stop charging the LifePo4 battery if it is full
This is what Renogy wrote me :
It will not stop...
Ik think so :)
Normal voltage when battery is in rest is 13,4V so if the charger is below 13,4V it is ok
But what if we drive and the alternator is 14,4V ?
What does the DC-DC charger do ?
I have the BMS from the picture which works great but everyone can log-in into the BMS and change the settings if they want
That does not feel so well and I like to know whether it is possible to secure the BMS.
Thanks, I have not yet bought one but will buy a Renogy 20A because the Orion TR 12/30 is twice the price of a Renogy ;) and I think it will do the same.
Thanks (again) DJSmiley
Inverter will be no problem, I don´t use it so much and it is always off untill I need it.
That mean that the BMS is fine for what I want.
Will advice in a movies to add an active balancing and he talked about a 1,2A version but that was in combination with 100Ah cells...
Hi
I am intent to build my own 12V-280Ah battery for in my RV and found the following parts
Can someone advice me if my configuration is fine ?
Battery pack from Shenshen Basen from Alibaba
120A BMS from Aliexpress
3S-4S 5A balancer from Ebay
Smart battery sense from Ebay
Orion TR Smart 30A...
I know but 20A is enough if I may believe Will Prowse
I have a 280Ah LifePo4 in my Ducato from 2011, no smart alternator.
LifePo can handle more amps but I don´t know if my alternator can handle that and to be save I am intent to buy the 20A version
First question has been answered, I can charge a LA with the LFP charger.
Yes that is de booster and yes I can charge the LFP with the alternator but the LFP should be charge with 14,6V
Suppost the alternator give 13,8V does the booster rais the voltage to 14,6V to charge the LFP ?
After a summer of traveling I can declare that I am very happy with the LFP but to keep me happy I like to know something.
Is it normal to loos 20Ah per week when nothing is connected to the LFP just only the BMS with BT module ?
I understand that, D+ connecting and ignition on will activate the DCC even the engine is not running
But what I wnat to know is when the D+ is connected and ignition is on will the DCC directly turn on ?
Isn´t it better when the DCC turn on a few seconds later ? Just for the alternator ?
