  • Post in thread: Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

I want him to beat the breaks off it like they did with Rosie so we can see its surge capacity and limits. Maybe get a $20 RTL dongle and looks at RF to see if it interferes with HF ham radio. The vendor should do this.
  • Post in thread: Skip the 120vac and run an inverter air-conditioner from solar DC current ?

Mr cool and pansonic sell split units that have both DC input and AC input. From what I can understand you can tell the unit to prioritize so when enough DC is incoming it will use that and then switch to AC when need.
  • Post in thread: All in one vs separate components for critical loads?

How much more upfront you thinking here? If I did go with a all in one is there one or two that's more suited for rural living and has a good reputation? I figured I'd need to get one that has a transformer, I believe they are called low frequency inverters, to start the well pump..or at least...
  • Post in thread: Lithium battery and ambient temps.

Google says the Lithium batteries shouldn't see over 70F/ish ambient temps. What are you suppose to do if you live in Texas or similar where the summer gets 105F. Do any of you have the batteries in the garage or shed that isn't air conditioned? I wanted to get a couple to run a small inverter...
  • Post in thread: Questions setting up a new Grid-tie system (failures/redundancy/compatibility).

Yes the new one has 200 amp pass-through but I thought he said it could balance loads when they were stacked. I understand what you're saying about load balancing tcp vs electricity ..I wasn't trying to compare the fundamentals just the context. Wonder if it would be possible for a internal...
  • Post in thread: Combiner box

I thought these things were being phased out due to the newer chargers with high VOC and watt input.
  • Post in thread: Has anybody used the Rosie inverter yet for prime time?

Rosie needed a diaper after this test.
  • Post in thread: Adding Schneider XW Pro

Can you elaborate more on your setup; can you take some pics maybe? Are you using their pdp panels? I want to go this route with either two maybe even three 6848's or perhaps outback radians ..but one thing that really discourages me is that they really gouge you for the add-ons to make it all...
  • Post in thread: Is AC coupled even worth it?

That's some commie bullshit..why even bother? Can't you just put a traditional DC coupled inverter with traditional panels up..attach that to the main panel and tell it to not sell / backfeed. I don't think they'd know.
  • Post in thread: Replacing FANS inside the EG4 6500EX-48 to make it quiet

You could also design a better chassis and pull the air instead of pushing it.
  • Post in thread: Is AC coupled even worth it?

You can't even use what you produce. If you had a garden would you have to turn over your produce to? Sorry but that's just so Anti American. I don't see how they get away with it.
  • Post in thread: .

Sometimes being nervous is a good thing that prompts one to question if they are doing things correctly. I'd say cautious with maybe a little nervousness. But, serious there's people out there that wired these things up that might not be the best solution and could cause issues down the line...
  • Post in thread: All in one vs separate components for critical loads?

this one: https://signaturesolar.com/schneider-4k-stackable-off-grid-inverter-conext-sw4048/ Ok, I see what you're saying now..it has a built in charger to charge when connected via AC to the grid but would need a solar charger to use the panels. A few questions. Does your conext have the...
  • Post in thread: Is AC coupled even worth it?

I'm surprised we don't see more class actions on this commie crap. It's like when the cities said you couldn't put up a tv antenna...forcing you to get cable. The FCC had to finally come out and say they'd sue the cities for this.
  • Post in thread: magnum inverters any good?

Hasn't that thing been in dev for like 7 years now? I thought it was suppose to be out by now. I appreciate devs and engineers taking time to make a great product but man...midnight is really really slow at releasing new stuff. There's a guy on youtube that has a beta I think...the one where it...

https://watts247.com/product/spf-5000-es/ https://signaturesolar.com/growatt-5kw-stackable-off-grid-inverter-spf-5000-es/ So what makes SS model different? Watts247 says on their page it's a European model?
  • Post in thread: .

Also, what auto transformer are you using and how many of them? How many inverters are you running now? The electrician that I followed his installed used one of these isolation transformers with 6 inverters and a shunt trip main breaker for the down stream feed...
  • Post in thread: WTH is this new Cali BS? Income Based Rate Increase??? I don't understand.... someone look at this PLZ

You didn't watch any of the science in the court hearing, even when your own team "liberals" come out and refute something you pitch a fit. The dutch are known for growing the best nutrient dense food using mostly organic fertilizer with unrealistic yields using farming techniques over just...
  • Post in thread: Replacing FANS inside the EG4 6500EX-48 to make it quiet

I've seen people say it pushes the air out the vents. Do you have one and can confirm? Also, it would be more efficient to put the fans on the top and the intake on the bottom and sides since hot air rises. I'm comparing this to IT since that's where most of my experience is...but a server...
  • Post in thread: What's the reason behind using 240V inverters with transformers when they have split phase ones?

If the inverter is 240V natively and you're splitting the phase with a isolation transformer and you have multiple units stacked for the only purpose of increased power and redundancy... you would still have split phase power if only one remained. This is assuming the transformer didn't go out...
  • Post in thread: Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

This is why they make active balancers, in fact there's HV 10A 15A ones that are on the market now. There's too many pros to HV to not move forward in the industry.
  • Post in thread: Has anybody used the Rosie inverter yet for prime time?

Classics ..are you referring to the charge controllers? They will work with a XW..why would they not?
  • Post in thread: Has anybody used the Rosie inverter yet for prime time?

Schneider should either give or at least rent the configuration tuning tool for their xw line.

  • Post in thread: Adding Schneider XW Pro

Do you have any diagrams, pics of your layout when you put it all together? Not trying to be intrusive on these sorts of request..just trying to learn how people, regardless of system, are putting things together safely.
  • Post in thread: Adding Schneider XW Pro

Knowing what you guys now know about schneider and their poor and inept customer service alongside lazy, uninterested and unmotivated engineering / management....would you pick the same system today? I was thinking of going with a 6848, one of their charge controllers, pdp and gateway ...but...
  • Post in thread: I'm DONE with MPP Solar

The search feature took me to page six..get over yourself.Try just answering the question next time. Noticed you didn't comment on how the solark, on paper, almost surges twice it's output for 10s and over twice it's output for 16ms.Comparing it to the manual for the xw it appears the solark is...
  • Post in thread: Has anybody used the Rosie inverter yet for prime time?

Yes. If I remember MNS said there's no reason a HF can't surge as well as a LF inverter and Rosie / B17 was suppose to prove it. Now I want to see it myself toe to toe. I'd rather have the HF due to lower idle and it weighs much less..but the xw is known for starting 4ton ac units and deep well...

  • Post in thread: NEWS: New Midnite Solar DIY Series - SCC's & Inverters (great $ too)

One year warranty, this says we don't believe in the product we are selling you. There's no way around this with some CEO double talk. You're asking us to take midnight seriously but you don't even take yourselves seriously. The cheaper units should come with a three year warranty, the more...

  • Post in thread: Signature Solar and the EG4-6000EX-48HV

Yes, I'm referring to the seller like SS or watts etc. If I buy a eg4 their system associates it with my account and emails me when something is recalled or a firmware update etc.
