  • Post in thread: Deye EU inverter US supplier?

I've been looking at the Deye products; based on research and some threads here it seems like people are saying their Deye inverters are much better quality than their mpp or growatts. I've never physically looked at one but they appear to be much better quality..can folks that own them chime in...

Oh, so you're seeing past this Marxist bullshit to? Straight up Marxist playbook..call it the opposite of what it is. We're in some deep shit unless people wake up quickly...it's almost too late. From government funding, Ukraine, UN funding etc. Money printers are about to go burrrrr again...

  • Post in thread: eg4 6500 ex48 one battery

I didn't see where you mentioned PV input, maybe I missed it glossing over this, but if you're going to use PV input this can change the outcome to your question. I have not read the manual for the these new EG4 inverters but they are MPP clones, the MPP and growatt can use incoming PV and apply...

Exactly ..here in DFW they provide free breakfast and lunch all year...and in the summer they still provide free breakfast if you're enrolled. While people are loosing their homes and can't afford to have quality food themselves. Our ER are being used as a primary care doctor to....and they...
  • Post in thread: Do Electric bikes use the same batteries used in solar?

You mean like when your charge controller fails and over volts/charges the batteries and the cheap china bms fails to cut the battery off? I've seen that happen in the mentioned forum. I guess what I was saying is I understand why some build a solar shed!
  • Post in thread: Signature solar horrible customer service

So, you're saying you bought cheaper batteries from SS that don't suck? Seems like you're saying they make decent batteries for the price point despite them being cheaper than other competitors? You're proving affordable aka cheap doesn't mean it has to be crap. I'm happy it's working for you I...

What I'm saying is the EV market and charging them is pushing for HV battery / inverters on the solar side.

I hear you and each to their own but it's a know issue with the inverter internally regardless of how well balanced your loads are. You should be able to start a simple saw for how much that cost. As I mentioned some people including "bens solar" which is a licensed installer noted this and the...

  • Post in thread: Do Electric bikes use the same batteries used in solar?

I'm curious what kind of BMS do you think the server batteries use like EG4 etc? And, you can't visualize them like offgrid can to be proactive if whey are bulging or sagging. What kind of proactive safety precautions can you take with these sort of batteries?

You do realize they've been talking about banning the sale of armor and all this ghost gun bs right? I assume also you know it takes special jigs to machine the lower right? Making those illegal to sale would be the best approach. 3d printed lowers are not feasible right now as the polymer...
  • Post in thread: Schneider XW Pro Multi Inverter Setup Limits

The manual on page 25 has the various setups and it does say two inverters without all the external stuff is supported. I'm not sure why over two brings all this into play. https://solar.se.com/eu/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2021/08/XW-Pro-Multi-Unit-Design-Guide_990-91373.pdf Also, over at the...

Is this advise coming from the same signature solar that sold, encouraged and made youtube videos on how to wire in auto transformers so EU inverters could be used on US electrical systems?
  • Post in thread: Is AC coupled even worth it?

If I'm understanding you correctly I'd just forgo SCC's and use the PV inverter in place? If that's the case I'd just split my arrays and have each one feeding a PV inverter installed at the array location, ground mounted, and then feed this back to the battery inverters. It seems I'd be able to...
  • Post in thread: Has anybody used the Rosie inverter yet for prime time?

So, that B17 in the video is massive. Is each one of those modules 15k? This looks to be more commercial as oppose to us home / off grid users. I can't even imagine the price point..especially when some of us like two units encase one dies.

  • Post in thread: Signature solar horrible customer service

It was more affordable but also has a good reputation comparable to the more expensive ones in both performance and durability proven over time. Also, the vendor stands by the product and you don't have to fuss to get resolution. And specific to this...harbor freights are everywhere so no...
  • Post in thread: Inverter on limited budget.

Can't you guys get a deye inverter down under? They are better quality than mpp and growatt and it shouldn't be too much for a 4/5k version.
  • Post in thread: AC/DC coupled, grid tie, hybrid etc?

I'm just starting off in the solar tech and have some questions; perhaps they are documented elsewhere here? I'd appreciate some guidance on this path of seeking context and clarity. 1. Grid tie. I've seen articles that seem to suggest this means only if the inverter is tied into the grid to...
  • Post in thread: Schneider PDP panels

First, why is a sheet metal box with some bus bars and breakers so dam expensive? Second, are they even worth it if there's a cheaper, safe way that can pass inspection if needed? If I recollect correctly there's a user here that didn't use the PDP and passed inspection. I plan on starting with...

Maybe get somebody that has it installed DD a image and then emulate it. Not sure how or if SA ties the license to the hardware as it using hwinfo or lspci or mac address etc. If it's using the mac you can spoof this. https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/emulate-raspberry-pi-pc/

  • Post in thread: Signature Solar EG4 6.5K Off-Grid Inverter | 6500EX-48

There's a marked for it..it's called solark. Also, midnight is coming out with a new DIY rebranded SNRE listing for a 10k unit. Problems with that is how they handled the diy line so far and the lack of confidence they have with a one year warranty. Also, SNRE isn't really know for being reliable.
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar and the EG4-6000EX-48HV

Exactly ..it's very easy to Xlate a manual in todays time. They need to hold the manufactures accountable for testing the product before shipping them and provide a legally binding certification regarding this. Second they need to allow the customer the choice of having their products they buy...
  • Post in thread: DIY 3.6kW bifacial ground mount system

I'm assuming there's a site or calculator that helps one figure this out? I've paid so much attention to the electrical side and haven't really got into the panel side yet. I am also looking to use santan solar for used panels or new ones if the price is right.
  • Post in thread: Solar assistant: do you use it?

Ok, I didn't see where you said container and the status screen is for the host so I thought I'd point out containers. I prefer to run Linux containers if possible, in fact I prefer them over docker at this point if docker isn't a requirement. Nice to see another proxmox user.
  • Post in thread: Questions setting up a new Grid-tie system (failures/redundancy/compatibility).

Question, have you guys seen the Rosie videos of it surging to like 27k with compressors and other heavy loads? It started a bunch of dewalt compressors along with lights. It didn't start this other compressor but it seems like it almost got there. The guy says even his dual stacked conext 6848...
  • Post in thread: Do Electric bikes use the same batteries used in solar?

Thanks bro, I've done a lot of research in the inverter piece of this but need to start researching batteries and panels. I want a good value, we all do, on the batteries but also want them to last and be safe.
  • Post in thread: Questions setting up a new Grid-tie system (failures/redundancy/compatibility).

I figured if they were stacked then the software that keeps them all in sync would determine which one had what load in realtime. Working in IT all these years I'd call it load balancing. So, in the example you had a 160 amp demand it might load two all the way up at @120 and then put the...

  • Post in thread: Hello from Texas, about to jump in!

Good catch..they use a transformer for the split. Built In Transformer for 120/240v AC
  • Post in thread: What's the reason behind using 240V inverters with transformers when they have split phase ones?

From what I've seen the cheaper ones like mpp / growatt seem to use a screw that often is removable internally. But, I'd highly suggest checking with the manufacturer before buying one of these to make sure you can do this. Signature solar seems to order ones with the screw removed at the...
  • Post in thread: High voltage DC inverters?

Say your voltage is 300V. You can parallel two 300V battery banks so should one fail you still have power. Are you saying you're wanting to use the car's battery to run the system to? I thought manufacturers stop allowing this?
  • Post in thread: Signature solar horrible customer service

Again, all I did was repeat what he has stated in two videos now and ..again there's people here saying he same thing.
