What about EG4..anybody bought these and needed support and if so how was it?
  • Post in thread: Adding Schneider XW Pro

Thanks for the in depth feedback! I see your view points and while I agree I also have opposing views. First, if you buy the product and install it yourself you are the installer and should have the support and tools you need on day one as part of the system not add-ons. Your point about people...
  • Post in thread: Do Electric bikes use the same batteries used in solar?

I'm surprised it's even legal to sell these things. I'd hate to live in a apartment when people are buying them and storing them inside. As for solar...I'm sure at this point on the solar shed to house the batteries and inverters.
  • Post in thread: Adding Schneider XW Pro

    Thanks for the info.
  • Post in thread: magnum inverters any good?

Are they selling the Rosie now..if so how much? And, when you get it you need to beat it up real good and video it so you can share. I've seen videos on youtube where a guy tried to start a massive compressor and it didn't work to well but didn't blow up either. I'm looking at conext or outback...
  • Post in thread: WTH is this new Cali BS? Income Based Rate Increase??? I don't understand.... someone look at this PLZ

No tardo..the user here named Leo that acts and sounds just as retarded as you. I'm convinced it's the same person. But, do you have any pot?
  • Post in thread: Questions setting up a new Grid-tie system (failures/redundancy/compatibility).

I'm curious about this to, they seem to handle the heat and cold better and don't require a bms. But, don't they cycle out much quicker on life span and I believe they store less energy.
  • Post in thread: Schneider XW Pro Multi Inverter Setup Limits

I agree, I can't believe they haven't put 100A per leg relays. Most residential house in the USA are 200A right..100A per leg? I suppose even the guys that sting up 4 mpp have this issue to. 14k watts isn't that much for a all electric house. I guess the way to do it without the external relay...
  • Post in thread: Thoughts on how to wire solar into my home?

LOL, I get it. Is there a decent online web based diagram tool that's decent for solar / electrical work for free? I guess the TLDR...is I bought a house that has a whole home generator installed with it's existing transfer switch. I want to install solar to provide supplemental electricity...
  • Post in thread: Grid Assist for hard to start AC load, then switch to Battery/PV inverter output?

Doesn't the xwpro and outback do this to..switch to the grid if needed?
  • Post in thread: Questions setting up a new Grid-tie system (failures/redundancy/compatibility).

I was reading in this thread that more than three conext inverters requires a contactor. I guess this is a ATS switch, is this a special item from schneider or any ATS switch. And, why is this? Second does anybody know if you can stack more than two outback radian 8048's without this sort of...
  • Post in thread: Is the midnight ms3548diy the same as the powmr POW-LVM3.5K-48V?

The layout and case is the exact same, look at will's post on this. And, there's another user here that had both and opened them up and they are the same unit which is why the user manual lines up; midnight has said they cleaned up the original manual.
  • Post in thread: Hail damage in Texas.

LOL....that's what came to my mind. "Slightly cracked with some snail trails."
  • Post in thread: Hail damage in Texas.

I have no idea about this storm but I grew up in Dallas and we got golf ball size often and sometimes baseball size hail.
  • Post in thread: Adding Schneider XW Pro

The two products I'm leaning into for the main system are radian 8048 and conext 6848 ...I'd assume both manufactures make good a good scc? Do you have to use one specific to the manufacture you choose to integrate and work well with the system overall as in communicating with the software and...
  • Post in thread: Signature solar horrible customer service

You have a point on the manuals but IMHO this is because comapanies are not held to a higher standard. It should be mandatory that the manufactures produce coherent documentation for the markets they sell in and vendors should enforce it. Personally, I think a regulatory body should enforce this...
  • Post in thread: Is the midnight ms3548diy the same as the powmr POW-LVM3.5K-48V?

They are not known for quality from what I've been reading, it's what you get with most Chinese junk....it's a dice roll. I was so excited when I found the midnight AIO as I wanted a AIO to make it easier and I'm used to midnight being "made in the USA" tough. Was really let down with it made in...
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar Two Hours On Hold Just To Buy an Item!

Here's three youtubers I follow that all say the same thing people say here on this forum regarding customer support if you wish to review them. I've came across more but can't locate them again. I'm only posting this to show there's people outside this forum saying the same thing regarding...
  • Post in thread: Solar Tracker Design

Which actuator is that? What tilting design does it work with? The videos I've been watching show the typical plunger style actuators that push pull.
  • Post in thread: High voltage DC inverters?

There's was to mitigate some of this right? I believe you're an electrician. There's protective gear I see them wearing on youtube for arc flash...like face shields and gloves. But, to your point is exactly why I wanted a battery professionally made where It's plug and play not a diy one. Just...
  • Post in thread: Adding Schneider XW Pro

I've been researching the radian more right now which has lead me to two questions. One video said you can swap out failed parts in the field via a modular design...as in just pull the part out and pop the new one in so yo don't have to take the whole unit off the wall. Maybe this is the flex...
  • Post in thread: High voltage DC inverters?

Should be the case at any voltage.
  • Post in thread: Thoughts on how to wire solar into my home?

My last update aka summery was a paragraph and I believe I stated the key objective clearly. I see your points about the original post though and breaking it up..good points. Thanks.
  • Post in thread: Questions setting up a new Grid-tie system (failures/redundancy/compatibility).

"Circuit looks like a wad'o crap that the engineers drew up on a paper napkin, while at lunch." lol From what I was reading last night you only need this when using more amps than two units can provide with their 60amp onboard relays? So, if I have two 6848's I should be able to pull 120A...
  • Post in thread: Thoughts on how to wire solar into my home?

It seems you get what I'm saying. Are your inverters going to be in the container as well, if so are you moving utility power over to the container? Are you going to have a generator in the picture? I'd like to use the existing generator to change the batteries as well, that's a good catch I...
  • Post in thread: Do We Need a Control Group?

Do you have another account here by the name "Murphy"?
  • Post in thread: Supplemental power

A mpp or growatt are the cheapest and should help supplement but the issue is night time you're going to need batter storage and I'm not sure you want to store a bunch of batteries like this in your RV. I plan on getting one of these to do a power audit on my house, I assume you could use one...
  • Post in thread: Is the midnight ms3548diy the same as the powmr POW-LVM3.5K-48V?

Do a forum search for that the midnight model number and you find several threads ..he's in one. Or, tag him in this post and ask. FYI ..midnight is suppose to come out with a 10k model with split phase this year. I hope they've changed but I'm highly doubtful. A big red flag is a one year...
  • Post in thread: High voltage DC inverters?

Can you connect in series the server rack batteries like eg4? That way you could leave the circuit breakers off until you get them all connected.
  • Post in thread: Seems MPP dropped a new inverter...a split phase 10KW

Thanks bro for the input...much appreciated.
  • Post in thread: Is AC coupled even worth it?

I'm not sure how to frame this question so I'll do my best. Can you split the output from a single PV source to both charge controllers and a PV inverter? I plan on having, in the end, one large array south facing and one medium array west facing. I plan on combining these arrays in a combiner...
  • Post in thread: Waterbed to sleep Cool at Night despite no power and hot days?

The ones with fiber fill are nice as it reduces the wave, I preferred the full fill vs the shallow fill ones. The shallow fill ones are easier to setup and heat though from experience.
  • Post in thread: Adding Schneider XW Pro

I hear you.. but my point early on was that while I plan on running with batteries, most likely 4/6 eg4, it's nice to have a inverter that can run without batteries or grid. You never know ..something might take your battery bank out and you're off grid. It would be nice to power a deep freezer...
  • Post in thread: .

We'd like to see EG4 at 12/15k output though...just because it's a lower tier inverter doesn't mean they can't keep up. But..all these MPP clones though are basically the same...meh. MPP does not seem to be interested in upping their game regarding build quality; they seem to have no planes for...
  • Post in thread: Signature solar horrible customer service

Three years and if I choose I can re-up the warranty for about $100 a year. But also don't confuse the fact it functions as it was marketed and sold to me and it has a good reputation in general out of the box.
  • Post in thread: magnum inverters any good?

Thanks, I figured that out. People are complaining they are failing at alarming rates as well on youtube; seems like a once great company is no more. Did you pay with credit card..if so call them and tell them what the deal is and they might refund you and go after magnum. I know discover and...
  • Post in thread: Schneider XW Pro Multi Inverter Setup Limits

Per google. 200-amp service is the current standard for new homes and updated service panels. It can supply all standard electrical needs in a typical family home but may not support a large electric heating system. In large homes, 300-amp or larger service capacity may be needed, particularly...
  • Post in thread: Solar assistant: do you use it?

Should be able to run in a linux container under proxmox very easily since it's native.
  • Post in thread: Deye EU inverter US supplier?

I thought it was only the split phase units. If solark designed the unit and had deye manufacture it then I can understand, and it's a direct clone, but it seems like there's differences in the two for sure. Also, it doesn't make sense why solark doesn't seem to care if they sell it in Europe or...
  • Post in thread: NEWS: New Midnite Solar DIY Series - SCC's & Inverters (great $ too)

It's literally the same SNRE inverter that everybody else is rebranding, the internals are the same. Not sure if you read the whole thread but Robin , the CEO, of the company even stated that it's a SNRE rebranded unit and he was not aware of any significant changes from what SRNE releases. They...
  • Post in thread: Is AC coupled even worth it?

Thanks for this input. I don't have a loads audit yet, I've been looking at the following to achieve this on a overall big picture level and per circuit level. This should allow me to clamp onto the mains and a individual circuit. The AC is a typical Train 4ton unit. I have a killowatt but don't...
  • Post in thread: Do Electric bikes use the same batteries used in solar?

True..then you read the "up in smoke" section and realize it's more dangerous than you thought. While you say "any battery storage" and I get what you're saying but I've never had a pack of energizer batteries just blow up or find my remote melted into the sofa. But, yes I get what you're saying.
  • Post in thread: I'm DONE with MPP Solar

Like I said there's others here and elsewhere that have found the solark has issues with shutting down while not exceeding the listed inverters output and or under surges. After doing a quick search and finding the below thread, which you're in and doing the same thing, it's clear there's...
  • Post in thread: I'm DONE with MPP Solar

I never claimed to have read the whole thread, I've explained this! Bruh, you really have a over active imagination reading more into things that are not there. I'm going to go ahead and exit stage left as I don't think this is healthy or productive for either one of us. On a serious note, I do...
  • Post in thread: Do We Need a Control Group?

Second NFL player. I guess his heart just wasn't in the game.
  • Post in thread: Signature solar horrible customer service

  • Post in thread: Deye EU inverter US supplier?

I've been looking at the Deye products; based on research and some threads here it seems like people are saying their Deye inverters are much better quality than their mpp or growatts. I've never physically looked at one but they appear to be much better quality..can folks that own them chime in...
  • Post in thread: I'm DONE with MPP Solar

Oh, so you're seeing past this Marxist bullshit to? Straight up Marxist playbook..call it the opposite of what it is. We're in some deep shit unless people wake up quickly...it's almost too late. From government funding, Ukraine, UN funding etc. Money printers are about to go burrrrr again...
  • Post in thread: Adding Schneider XW Pro

I think it would have worked with a bigger array..but I only want to power a freezer or two.
