Thanks for adding your thoughts, apart from I mainly agree with both of you, I'm still disappointed, and given the fact Batrium is pretty much one of the most expensive solutions, I would expect slightly more enthusiasm to resolve the issues what customers might have. Perhaps sending replacement...
OK, you win.
I have to admit, I might need to seek professional mental health support, as I noticed some sign of a certain type of addiction...
Well, based on the last several months of use of the system, it become clear, we have lot more potential than I expected. So further panels are already...
Extension is complete, can't wait for the new inverter. The aircon unit is coming down in two weeks time when I start to install the central heating. Busy time of the year.
I have installed an access point to the same room where my battery (WM CORE) to see how much it will improve.
Also I changed the battery setting on the inverter (CAN bus comm) to see if/when it "locks up". It was good for a massive 30 minutes.
Clowns ? but typical.
It seems to be my problem is sorted, but they have nothing to do with that, in fact they have no idea how CAN bus comm works...
Solution: Replaced my Sungrow inverter as it was not quite the right size and capacity for my needs. New inverter is a Deye Sun 8k unit. As soon...
Good point there, I have one twisted pair to extended on the right hand side. The two end of the circuit is directly connected to the IsoMon. Pretty simple system (compare to yours).
You have the point, however in our case it will be more then sufficient. The possibility for expansion is still there, if needed. Given the history of blackouts in the past 10 years, this investment would be way too expensive to eliminate the consequences of that (0). So I'd rather be happy with...
So, it appears to be I'm less smart than I thought. There are several other places where the WiFi communication needs to be turned off, or to be changed. I know, I should pay more attention, but to be fair, doesn't make too much sense to me to have a "switch" which is seem to be the others on...
Yes all these valid points. My idea to use the car as a backup when the network is down, or something like that. Charging up the house battery would be used in a case of an emergency. My solar generation is pretty much enough to get through the day (expensive power) with the topup overnight...
Well, it seemed obvious for me as well, but that's what I meant when I said Batrium isn't "intuitive". Unfortunately not a word about this in the documentation. I expected the board to select the higher power input, and switch over when needed.
Exactly... Is your random as well? I have days when nothing happening, than it is not even capable to recover for hours. After that just running fine... no pattern what I can see.
I did the same thing with a cat6 cable, I used double shielded one, just for the better mechanical protection. The length of the extension is about 15-20m (I know I should measure it properly, but it is in the attic...) and have no issue with the reading/signal. When I commissioned the system, I...
Yes, the maintenance charge is something what bother me the less with the "other battery" setting. I'd rather try to keep my system simple, so adding extra components to it like shunt trip breaker and other monitoring options was not my preference. With the CAN bus comm these extra features are...
I Haven't tried RS485 yet, but when I had that screen (with two tabs on the right hand side) I noticed the connection is partially established (if that make sense). You might need to fiddle around and double check the settings, especially board ID on the Daly desktop app. Also what channel you...
I have some issue with the CT reading as well, and it seems to be multiple issue could be in the game. The cable to the CT extended with a shielded CAT6 cable, approximately 17-18m. When I connected to the inverter, as per the manual suggested, I had a reading of 20W at any point when had import...
CAN is working fine in my case, however the frequent restart of the Batrium BMS creates problems. Still running on CAN, but I have no problem with the "other battery" option either. In fact that is more predictable (in my case). The other issue I have with the Sungrow, it is randomly dumps the...
Deye Sun 8k has arrived, and installed. Luckily I had some head start with settings so didn't take too long to get it running. Surprisingly, the Batrium BMS took control without any problem (so far) via CAN bus. All works as it should... and looks slightly tidier. Still a bit of plastering to...
Well, given the fact it is a Hybrid system, not supposed to take all load in all possible scenario. So having a slightly smaller DC/DC converter make sense, and still have enough capacity in my case. In the other hand, I can't imagine a better component would make it lot more expensive, but I'm...
Well, 100W consumption 24 hour a day, on average rate (night/day in my case) is less than the daily fixed charge... I can see your point. you have a pretty decent "base load".
Huh that's a relief... Sorry I shouldn't say that, I know how frustrating it is, but at least I know this issue isn't a one off. I had the Zoom meeting on Tuesday, with a very helpful person however, doesn't seem to be we solved the problem. We did software and firmware update, and the most...
OK... Batrium guys made an attempt to solve the problem, but doesn't seem to be they nailed it.
I managed to capture the issue.
Here is the video, the problem starts at 1:15...
What a shame...
Hi, are you sure you posting in the right (DIY) forum? ;) Very neat install, even a "professional" could be proud of it. It seems to be you will get quite consistent generation through the day. Quite fortunate positioning of the house, or rather smart use of resources.
Sorry but which port you use exactly and which comm. method? It looks like you have partial communication. On the last picture, you can see what the inverter measures internally, but no other data which support the presence of BMS communication.
I have the WatchMon Core, with the 500A shunntMon. I use LeafMons, due to the battery what I have and these are connected to through the IsoMon to the WatchMon. So there is the full package from Batrium, I tried to avoid incompatibility issues getting everything from them.
The WatchMon connected...
