  • Post in thread: My wife hates extension cords please help

I have 4 20lb bags of rice in my bedroom. Under the bed of course. Less distance to fall if the bed falls apart.
  • Post in thread: House burned down

You have every right to be tense. All these jack offs, including me, can go pound sand! :) Our banter doesnt mean much compared to the drama that you are involved in. You are fine. No apology needed. Keep you head up brother.
  • Post in thread: Aptos 370w panels. WOW

I bought 18 370 watt aptos panels and installed in 2 strings of 9 for 6660 watts total. I just got a cloud edge that was 8653 watts for about 30 seconds. I thought one 6000xp could only do 8000 watts? Never mind, specs say max 10000 watts for PV. But still, these panels rock.
  • Post in thread: Have MPP's DON'T buy EG4's

    Balance problems..... again!
  • Post in thread: Solar has been hijacked/co opted. A wakeup?

I dont believe the writing on the wall could be any more clear. It is my understanding that grid power will be vastly more expensive when >50% of people use EVs and that will most likely take a decade to fix brown out issues and find price parity with the "new world" of electric everything. Oh...
  • Post in thread: Joe Biden Edition battery now available!

I wonder how it smells? I'm sure it's terrible. I bet this battery gets all hot and bothered around children.
  • Post in thread: Continuing DIY or give up DIY to buy already assembled battery?

LOVE this attitude. I share it with you. I love learning at my own pace with a nice payoff at the end.
  • Post in thread: Need a way to bottle or can excess solar production.

This time of year I run space heaters with a open window w/ fan. Almost kidding.
  • Post in thread: Is this a plausible amount of input from the panels?

I received sustained 106% of my panel rating in Feb. Very much unlike June and July. February seems to be a fair to good month for solar. The cooler temps help out a lot here in Wisconsin. Seems totally plausible.

Dont call him china joe for nothing.
  • Post in thread: Crazy things you do with excess power

I usually fire up 3 space heaters outside in the winter. Just trying to make it less wintery.
  • Post in thread: Lowes is running a deal on 4 Renogy panels + charge controller 449

I really enjoy and share your dislike on Renogy. Every single thing I have ever purchased from them has pissed me off except the solar panels.
  • Post in thread: Shout out to the Victron Solar Irradiance widget!

I have been using Victron VRM for a couple years now with my raspberry Pi. A couple months ago I added the solar irradience widget to my advanced view. Supposedly it utilizes AI for its forecast. I have found this incredibly useful in determining how far I care to drain my batteries overnight...
  • Post in thread: 1st off-grid adventure — need charge controller advice

Victron charge controllers are the best. Period. Quite, cool, efficient, best software, updates often, great warranty, pretty, what more would you ask for? Oh I know! You can get the Ral 5012 blue color and powder coat everything else to match the awesome Victron Blue...

YES/s Need one in every apartment because we cant hang a 30 watt panel in the window!
  • Post in thread: EG4 6000XP Released, ordered. Let's Go!

Oh no hah. Either way. A very nice guy from EG4 and on this forum named EG4_Jarrett helped more than I would have expected or imagined. I was astounded by his prompt responses, knowledge, and enthusiasm.

  • Post in thread: Happened again, DIY battery fire

I find it hard to believe you are calling Hy17 coo coo for saying that coal is the best, cheapest, and cleanest way. I agree. The GDP of the USA agrees as well.

    Exactly! poopy pants is leaving
  • Post in thread: wzrelb pure sine wave 5000w 24v power inverte

I would always recommend more solar. But there is absolutely a chance that that will not help resolve this.
  • Post in thread: GUIDE to properly Top-Balance and Charge a LFP Battery: Part 1

Isnt 3.45 the magic number for 100% with slow charging and zero detriment? I am pretty sure you are right! I usually charge to 3.45 and once every 5-6 months charge to 3.55 for balancing.

  • Post in thread: Used Lifepo4 algorithm

I dont think it would. Some AGMs can have a higher charging voltage than LifePo4. Some go up to 15v. A lot of them are at 14.6 I dont think you have anything to worry about. But dont take my word for it. Im wrong half the time im right. :)

  • Post in thread: Am i buying a decent hybrid and is it legitimate advice needed,

I find it very odd to get mad about a conversation on safety. Sure, OP may not care that a shed burns down in the middle of nowhere, but doesnt understand why we cant just smile and nod in agreement.

  • Post in thread: Has anyone come across a good, low power, surround sound technique?

When talking about audio reproduction and power, it has been said that a 10X increase of power is equal to a perceived doubling of volume. With that in mind you need to know what you want out of this. I have used 20 watt amps on mains and a 400 watt amp on bass with awesome results. If you are...

  • Post in thread: 6000XP Cooling Fan Observations
