Two years ago I developed the worlds smallest operational amplifier https://www.onsemi.com/products/signal-conditioning-control/amplifiers-comparators/operational-amplifiers-op-amps/ncs20282 https://www.onsemi.com/download/data-sheet/pdf/ncs20282-d.pdf

Good point. I need to get professional help to quit posting on message boards. It is a sick addiction.

Oh yes, among my numerous published articles, this one on inverter reliability: http://www.how2power.com/newsletters/2201/articles/H2PToday2201_design_RedHillLabs.pdf?NOREDIR=1

Fronius inverters for sure, had a direct communication with their engineers. Most companies don't even know what I'm talking about. Attached document details the problem but you may not be able to follow unless your an inverter design engineer.

You didn't see this in my post: Replaced 12 flooded lead acid golf cart batteries today. Total capacity 620 A/H at 24 V = 14880 kWh Using cheap garbage Interstates from Cosco total cost $1300 Batteries were 5 years old. Did a quote for a LifPo4 battery. Of course you only need 7 kWh from LifPo...
  • Post in thread: New Genetry Solar 6kw inverter owner

These guys have developed the most rugged output configuration of their MOSFETS in the industry and will tolerate any kind of abuse or stress with zero failure. The most indestructible inverters on the planet. Combine that with the most feature rich inverters and you have real industry...

    Thanks, I appreciate that.
  • Post in thread: BMS instead of Fuse/Breaker

You may want to read the following. I have also secured a report on the actual circuitry and implementation in the Tesla Model Y and intend to write on, especially if I find issues. There are good references in here why the aircraft industry does not do this. There is a path forward for...

Which inverters at the web page have transformers? Or, which ones are transformerless?
  • Post in thread: GE dishwasher does not like running on 4400w inverter.

I have a Magnum MS4024 24 volt 4 kw inverter that runs our dishwasher fine. I'm at my other house as I write this so I don't remember make or model except it is not a GE. You use a UPS on the dishwasher? Not sure I understand that. Either the dishwasher is connected to your inverter or it...

  • Post in thread: MPPT or conventional?

I've got regular charge controllers and MPPT charge controllers. My experience for over 10 years is that the MPPT isn't worth it, at least not here in the sunny Arizona desert. My upcoming system upgrades include upgrading to non-MPPT charge controllers.
  • Post in thread: MPPT or conventional?

7000 watts 24 volts, and my existing system is 4000 watts 24 volts and the two MPPT controllers I have makes an irrelevant level of improvement compared to its cost. Also running two conventional controllers.

  • Post in thread: New Genetry Solar 6kw inverter owner

Interesting to watch the evolution of the Hobby Inverter boys. Expecting to be an astounding commercial success with the most "Feature Rich" inverter on the market (yawn). With a competitive price because thay can avoid the huge and expensive product testing and validation (or rather, they don't...
  • Post in thread: Looking for inverter suggestion to set up a critical backup system while cutting utility bill.

Not saying all transformerless inverters are bad. But if you ask if they have DC protection if an output device they'll give you vague jargon and do anything to avoid a straight answer, and probably only their design engineer really knows. I am a big fan of transformer inverters but I could...

Note that in the video it was measured with an oscilloscope. All these little power meters may not catch the whole event, or are averaging it.
  • Post in thread: Midnite Solar Rosie HF Inverter 27kW Surge Test

Thanks for the info on the SMA inverters (can it be substantiated/documented in any way?). I'm starting a list of known manufacturers of transformerless inverters that have that protection. SOA, even in switching, becomes important in fault conditions, in particular shorted loads. During the...

Everyone seems to have an answer for everything. I like being told how I will have to build the system I already have and how virtually impossible it will be.

Lots of epsilon minus at Genetry. Most of what they do, say, claim, and their prior experience is "not even wrong".

  • Post in thread: Lead acid or LifPo decision time

When I did they were audio transformers, some mic input but mostly tube output stages. The toughest problem was leakage inductance that was dealt with by progressive winding interleaving until the limit was reached when a/3N^2<c where a is total winding thickness, N is the number of leakage flux...
  • Post in thread: What does "Transformerless" mean on the Sol-Ark?

The main thing the Eaton document states that only begins to make their arguments credible is that there inverters won't allow DC out if an output device fails. Unfortunately they are vague on how that is accomplished, that vagueness alone calls their method into question. This kind of failure...

And what happens if you connect the dishwasher directly to the inverter AC output? (bypass the UPS)
