Finally received my cells today, looks like my winter indoor project will be a long one.
Stacked four high, 40 cells per box.
In possession, going low and slow.
Unboxing video
And a closeup.
They'll be going into Basen-Green rack battery boxes and SunFunKits also found me some new Pace...
Yes, thank for your review.
I've been wanting to add some input to questions I've seen here, but haven't had the extra time.
The Sol-Ark info I read on page 4, was saying that the Modbus RS-485 hadn't been activated yet, so I didn't search any farther. I'll add that to my list.
I have a 4...
Full size 20MB shot could only be linked.
I used heat shrink on the busbars and covered those extra terminals with furniture leg levelers and some 5/8" ID grommets.
More info and pix can be found in my about:member section.
Yes, I got mine on temporally and definitely need trimming.
My EVEs came with the four hole bars, but are solid. The flexible ones came with the BasenGreen box, but I'll need to make a 4" jumper to bridge across to the other side, because neither included that. If the cells had the single...
Here's your Panel Calculator .
And some near by used panels listed here on the Forum's for sale page.
I'm located 4-5hrs north of you in Michigan and have panels that have about 40 volts (VOC) each.
My strings were limited to 8 (panels in series), you may find that to be true also after...
I paid $615 including CC fees for this BasenGreen box with BMS. Supposedly shipped from California, cheaper if straight from China.
So, if it's not a scam that's better than I paid.
I wiggled one out and checked voltage on another 19, got 3.3293v on those. After a closer look at my data sheet, I noticed it wasn't the number I thought. My sheet doesn't show what's in the top pallet, probably because I added to the original order.
It might be some time before I get into the...
My vote is for four more panels and Strings of eight.
I'm running Strings of 8, 8s2p on each MPPT, 48 panels for 19,360w. Just made since to me for wire size and distance between my house and the arrays. I still think I might be short again in December.
I already bought a Victron Lynx Distributor to combine the new bank. I backed myself into a corner with the first setup and if I gotta keep up with you guys, I need to plan better. Might just as well order another Victron Lynx Distributor, so I can take a bank out if service without loosing...
In reality, if you backfeed into an outage. The guy that's been waiting for that dead firewood to hit the ground is who's going to get it ⚡ or some kids walking down the road.
Lineman have a saying, "if it's not grounded, it's not dead".
When a Lineman does find backfind on an Open Line, he may...
X3, Rinnai and Geothermal desuperheater here.
Rewired elements in series, so both thermostats require heat and lowers amperage draw on SolArk15k. When ever that's not enough, the tankless propane tops it off. 500gal of propane lasts us over 3yrs (including stove/oven and dryer), it's backup...
Seasonal homes and hunting cabins (usually in remote locations) use very little power as a whole and this is just the way it is.
These have been subsidized through higher priced commercial rates, which my State was liking fine. It was promoted as making the rich pay their fair share. Now the...
All of the LF280K V3 cells are over 300Ah. But I wouldn't mix the 304 with the 300 in the same battery (matched batch or not).
If that last group of 16 is good enough for a BMS that has balancing, those other 9 will surely be primo.
Either way, I ordered 4 more cells that should push that low...
Hi neighbor (well kind of)
I'm up by Mt. Pleasant/ Clare.
If you are hooked to the grid through DTE or CE then you are probably Split-Phase. There are a few old straight 120v, 2 wire places around, but you should have two 120v legs at 180 degrees out of phase with each other (240v between them)...
Yeah, I had my new array unhooked while adding two more panels and seen some big numbers from the 1st array 8S4P on MPPTs 1&3 (32x375w, 16 on each) during a cold snap.
I was running the battery in closed-loop again and seen a steady 275A charge, so I can't blame the BMS for anything now.
I...
One quirk I found about MPPT3, is a few volts lower that the other two. Switching strings around should show that. I put the strings with the higher Vmp on MPPT3 (helps me sleep better at night ).
I've noticed in my packs of 16 cells (not single cells) that heat of even as little as 2°C effects what the pack contributes to the bank.
Where I have two stacks of rack batteries 7 high and I see the cycle counts higher on the top packs. So much that I shuffled the top to bottom (I know...
I tested a couple of them and ran a test on one of them three times (all different results). My tests varied a couple Amp hrs and were all less then the EVE test (291 ~ 294), but more than 280Ah.
I paralleled and charged the pack of 16 that had the test cells, but the others were assembled...
Says, 19.2kw on PV. I only have 18.4kw, so I can't hit 19.2kw.
I can send 3kw to my pre-waterheater, but my amps to my batteries drops.
BTW my new 460w bi-facials were running 20% over o_O
I like the choice too. But it won't be a choice soon (2023], then how long before "the war on carbon" starts.
All along, the overloading of the grid is grow-ops (cannabis) in Michigan. HID grow lights and A/C to cool them down plus ventilation.
Then charge peek time usage and preach LEDs to...
I would bet that those build-in protections aren't only to stop backfeed, but also for the inverter's protection. But yes, the Sol-Ark 15k does detect the presence of the grid and open it's tie, if it doesn't meet the parameters of quality power.
The power company's fuses and OCRs (oil covered...
