  • Post in thread: First System, looking for guidance

Recently i asked the community about a friends sytem that killed its batteries, so several questions came to my mind, so i would like the help of the community on my plan for installing my own system The system: (4) 330w SunPower PV modules 50.9 VOC and 8.47A ISC for each module, i plan to do...
  • Post in thread: Advertised value panels- are they good?

This is what i have at hand, they are holding ok, no loss of output yet, i don't have pictures at close range at hand, i just received the 6BB 455w "bifacial" PERC half cell, the bifacial part I'm not so sure sice they have white vinyl on the back, i haven't done tests so can tell you about the...
  • Post in thread: MPP Solar LV2424 code 04

Thanks for the info, thats what i thought, i believe mpp manuals are not clear about their menus, the test was done without grid power to simulate a real power outage
  • Post in thread: Hand Truck 24 volt portable system

It only supports 120v, for splitphase you need another lv2424 in parallel, but, a while ago i saw somebody using a toroid transformer from an 120v-240v transformer box for transforming to european voltage (This video), you should talk with an electrician any way (I HAVENT TEST IT) but it seens...
  • Post in thread: Help Lv2424 leaking voltage to ground terminal and part of the frame

There is no grounding, thats part of the problem, any way, Ian Roux explained to me what happens And i quote "The ground terminal on these units is the one on the AC input and output, they are bonded to the inverter metal casing. If you have no ground, I suggest you run one from a pipe...
  • Post in thread: Grounding Lv2424 MppSolar

Hi everybody, recently i bought an Lv2424 the question is that here in Venezuela most house are not grounded, some electricians have told me that the ground its in the transformer area bonded with the neutral (we use splitphase 120-0-120 60hz) i am planning on use the lv2424 with a changeover...
  • Post in thread: Pre-charging big inverter

I will I will eventually buy something bigger, i think it has worked anyway, and this inverter is 48v, the other thing is that we are in lockdown too, i can get the resistor to my shipping company but it will get stuck on my country port until lockdown gets lifted
  • Post in thread: MPP Solar LV2424 code 04

You are right about the idle consumption, its about 50w for each inverter, i have one lv2424 and with the shunt i realise that the idle consumption of the inverter is not shown, the consumption you se in the screen i really dont know what it is, but it is those 5 to 12w plus the load you see in...
  • Post in thread: Advertised value panels- are they good?

I recive the first batch and already installed, the have good construction quality, comparing it with my sunpower panels, sunpower stills wins (obviously) but for the price are ok and will do the job, in any case i would only buy solar panels from this supplier, this company do not manufacture...
  • Post in thread: Anyone know of a supplier of decent solar panels

Santan recently told me that in a couple of weeks they will have P17 sun power panels 330w to 355 (50 ish VOC), dont know wich one they will have, i bought 4 330w like new, only one had marks of previous use, they will have like 400 i was told, hope it helps.
  • Post in thread: Anyone know of a supplier of decent solar panels

P17 Sun power were around 129-155$, 330w-355w plus shipping on santan
  • Post in thread: Setting MPPSolar Bulk and float voltages

Some people i mean things i read on internet. You mean to monitor Wh and reset it on every use?
  • Post in thread: Any idea on "cleaning" dirty electricity from dual fuel generator?

I change it from UPS to Appliance, also helps to change the RPM of the generator, it was on 63 hz max, i took it to 60-61hz and works fine, also, newer models are less annoying, it might be something about the software, you could try updating the software too, i didn't update my, but I bough 2...
  • Post in thread: Solar array mounting doubs

Not to much wind, jan-april are the month with more wind and i think the average is 10-12 mph
  • Post in thread: Doubts about max solar array

I think this are not good quality panels, this are from Santan Solar and have snail trails, some of them look a little damage by the sun, example, some of them have on the front "dry skin", other yellowish spots (maybe water?) They all work and output good voltaje (35 or 36 from 37.7 open...
  • Post in thread: Battery bank low capacity, 2 month of use

The second charger its a brute force charger, its from the 70s, its a transformer and a rectifier i think, you select the voltage with a lever 6v or 12v, and the power with a wheel so it does what i tell him to do, anyway batteries are dead, i also charge them with a MPPSolar Lv2424 the green...
  • Post in thread: Different solar panels same charge controller

I have used the renogy wire gauge calculator i think is accurate just that it cant handle large amperages
  • Post in thread: Battery bank low capacity, 2 month of use

Sorry, EFENAR, not EFRENAR There are no manuals provided by the seller here in Venezuela
  • Post in thread: Solar array mounting doubs

Are those guidelines in this forum? I really dont understand if i should locate the lenght parallel to north-south or to east-west axis, is there any difference with my current location
  • Post in thread: Battery bank low capacity, 2 month of use

Its efenar not efrenar, sorry Yes we use the same standards 120v and 240v spliphase, most likely 110v per line Cant check dc amperage, i dont have the means, just ac wattage and amperage, with a kill-a-watt metter and a chinese toroidal coil meter, but just AC, any way just recently got...
  • Post in thread: Can Daly BMSs be connected in series?

Just that, can I make 2 identical batteries with Independent and identical BMSs in series, let's say 4 280Ah Lifepo4 cells with a 100A bms and other battery identical in series for a 24v battery bank? This is all DIY by the way, I know some BMSs can be adjusted but the second BMS would have...
  • Post in thread: Mismatched solar panels (really different)

Thanks, that's pretty much what i guess it would produce, will test both ways and see
  • Post in thread: Battery bank low capacity, 2 month of use

I want to thank everybody for your help, i will be doing some testing so i can confirm the source of the problem, but i think it was overdischarging the batteries
  • Post in thread: Setting MPPSolar Bulk and float voltages

A few months ago i bought some renogy 100AH gel batteries for an LV2424 Hybrid MPPSolar inverter, on the batteries is written Cycle use: 14.2v , Standby use: 13.5v, on that moment i set the Lv2424 to user and set bulk to 28.6v and float to 27.5v, because that's the range the spec's sheet...
  • Post in thread: Modular system question

Sorry, 100ah gel batteries renogy brand, solar array its 2940w of used poly cells (245w module, from SantanSolar with snail trails, 12 units) the max i have got from this array is 1600w short time testing with really good sun, i dont think it will deliver any more than that, the mppt is 60A...

  • Post in thread: Does anyone has installed a wind turbine with an MPP Solar inverter?

Thats whats scares me, thats a hit or miss, and missing means lossing several months of work in this country, maybe the money of several family members outside the country who join forces to help those left in the country, so thats why i sticked to Amazon/ebay
