There is a gentleman Arthur T Bradley that did some videos I found informative, and he also did sell, or his company sells special ferrites.
  • Post in thread: EG4 24K hybrid solar heat pump current question

You have options: a) Fuse it at or below the given spec in amps, and see what happens b) get different panel, c) or buy and try and film it, in case it goes wrong quick (not recommended)

Why not insulate the batteries while in storage, and if there is power, power vent based on outside temperature, or a dusk till dawn function. As DZL was starting to say above? Have you run a logging temp in the space to see what the actual ambient is night to do against outside temps? Maybe...

jbatx, where is the best source in your experience for the heltec products? I see they also have an interesting reasonably costed physical display for individual cell voltages. https://heltec-bms.com/ Do you buy direct or is there someone that stocks them in usa? That is excellent and...

  • Post in thread: Mrbf Terminal Fuse instead of Class T

Was curious you noted the separate 12v circuit as being '12v' so that made me ask the question. https://baymarinesupply.com/bussman-mrbf-fuse-30a-to-300a.html They seem to be in stock?

-50.... just buy a huge ass truck battery, you know like the ones that they are using downtown right now? If this is your daily use system and you don't want to go outside and mind it ( I like going out to mind mine , especially when the witches are frozen to their brooms in mid air..) then...

That isn't very positive about signature. I've had very positive success with Ian at watts 247 picking up the phone as well as getting live answers from https://www.altestore.com/. If Alte store doesn't know they will find out the answer. Edit, I see Ian sells the spf 12000 still...

also in your attached diagram, top left tab Is this clown recovery, followed by the next tab - liberal motor control? Are you in the politics biz? This is a joke, we still make jokes in canada eh? Or maybe we don't and I didn't get justins memo.
  • Post in thread: Midnite Solar Classic BMS communications

I think it would be helpful for you to download the midnite manual. I think steve on this forum would also know answer if he sees this. I believe what you are asking about, if possible; is accomplished by using one of the two output relays and logic settings that midnite has. Fyi, I am also...
  • Post in thread: Mrbf Terminal Fuse instead of Class T

I bought my same style fuse from baymarine, they were very good to deal with, and when a couple items were missing on arrival they promptly sent those items at their shipping cost. https://baymarinesupply.com/bussman-mrbf-terminal-fuse-block.html
  • Post in thread: Midnite Solar Classic BMS communications

I think you should ask that question to the midnite tech department and then post the answer here, I believe it can handle it repeatedly or at least my classics have. todd@midnitesolar.com
  • Post in thread: EG4 Heat Pumps?

I will need to check this more specifically now that we have the parameters. The replys from signature solar were not encouraging or as specific as these details. Basically they said dc will not work without ac present. There seems to be some difference between the two 24kbtus behaviour but...

You are right, should have all the steps in there dave, shouldn't assume they know.
  • Post in thread: Help me Install 3 EG4 Mini Split Solar Heat Pumps

Sorry, I missed a word above, it should have read "will not work without alternating current". One of the 24kbtu units today would NOT start drawing dc/solar on the airconditioning/cool setting. Despite turning off, disconnecting pv, reconecting and connecting pv again. However, in...

My understanding from Mr. M1 was that you needed wifi and an active internet connection for that feature to work. There is no WAN available at this location.
  • Post in thread: My generator battery froze

Do you have a clamp meter you could measure the amps drawn when you manually start the generator from cold to measure peak amps? And like checkthisout says, how are the connections on the device that starts the generator?
  • Post in thread: Solark with Pytes v5 battery - how to attach victron lynx power in

20 feet is alot of conductor. Are you trying to stay energized while moving the battery ? I think you should have a really good reason for that if so. Otherwise shortest length conductor to put it where you want now. Buy the extra conductor and hang it on the wall for if and when you...
  • Post in thread: Big battery .com 48v li-ion power pack

I used a midnite solar disconnecting combiner and two 100 amp double pole midnite breakers. I then ordered 4 gauge wire from windy nation, and made up wires along with the sb50 connectors to plug into the unit. has been working fine to power small utility shed light on timer for chickens.
  • Post in thread: LiFeP04 sump pump backup

I abandoned this project and did a larger battery which I can patch to whole home if needed. I would still like to do this, but would likely buy a pre-built lip04 with a bms and stick a 12v charger on it plugged into wall.

  • Post in thread: LiFeP04 sump pump backup

Hello guys, am looking to build a battery backup to run my sump pump in event of grid down while away. The battery will be the sinopoly type recommended by will (because I want to try it) It will be installed in a basement that does not freeze. The pump is a 1/3 hp 120v pump that needs to...

  • Post in thread: Recommended equipment for working with battery packs?

My goal would be to figure out how to balance the cells, and then charge and discharge in simplest way possible, ideally using what is there for cooling, etc. It sounds like the pack has the capability to take dc in or ac and transform to dc. If figured out, you could charge from grid power or...
  • Post in thread: EG4 Heat Pumps?

My experience so far with the 24kbtu units connected to DC only is that after entering LP (lower power mode) they will not wake back up when the cloud cover has moved. I have to power cycle the unit with remote to get it to start working again. Does anyone have any experience with connected to...
  • Post in thread: My generator battery froze

Hi Randi, with the 7000 on wheels, can't you store it inside and then bring it outside for when you need to run it? The 'automation' idea seems to be very high on your priority list. I can understand that. I would put 'always run when I want it to' as a higher priority on my list. Could the...
  • Post in thread: Cold weather inverter (Solark vs. Growatt)

I don't know why it wouldn't work when cold - does the display not display properly due to low temp? I have a cheaper mpp lv5024 and it is spec'd to be run at warmer temps, but it is in an unheated area that sees -20F Call signature and ask them why they emphasize that specification?
