EG4 24K hybrid solar heat pump current question

Hi everyone,

I've been considering getting the EG4 hybrid 24K heat pump. I was reading through the specs sheet and it lists a max current of 12A. I called Signature Solar to ask if this was what the max the unit would pull (meaning anything over would just not be used) but they could not give me a straight answer. The reason why I ask this is that I'm planning to use the heat pump with my bifacial solar panels: Bluesun 550W BSM550M10-72HBD which list a Isc (short circuit current) at STC of 14A and 11A at NMOT. Before I buy, would like to know if anyone knows whether my 3 panels connected in series would be ok with the heat pump, and what kind of performance realistically I could expect. I live in Los Angeles. Thanks.

You have options:
a) Fuse it at or below the given spec in amps, and see what happens
b) get different panel,
c) or buy and try and film it, in case it goes wrong quick (not recommended)

I have the same question, except that I've already bought my panels and mini split. I plan to use a 12 amp fuse and see what happens.

Anyone experimenting with custom dipping of outside coil in anti-freeze and coat flat faced anti-freeze bath with icephobic spray?
