That would be tricky. Cant hire 5 ladies to sit there and play on Facebook during the slow hours.
  • Post in thread: Generator in the garage - Thoughts?

Dont forget you can always run the generator in reverse to make the mileage go down.
  • Post in thread: Ruuvi Bluetooth humidity sensor with Cerbo GX

Might end up buying from overseas they sell a 4 in 1 Pro Version. Havent found that yet in the states. If you buy 4 the price goes down a few bucks and free shipping after 2. They have lots of resellers in the USA listed. Started searching a few. Nobody seems to have the 4 in 1 pro yet...
  • Post in thread: More Charging Current for FLA Batteries?

Your issue is common with the WFCO converters. They dont go into 14.4v mode. The only reason you are seeing a small 9amp charge, is because that is how many amps it takes for the converter to see 13.5v. If you drain your batteries further you will see a much higher amp charge. But i doubt you...
  • Post in thread: Improper placement of generators and carbon monoxide poisoning

Went to supercross at the coliseum and man those exhaust fumes are brutal. We had cheap seats high up. I wonder if its worse the higher you go? I also wonder how much CO the racers are exposed to during a race. Breathing all heavy with a 190 heartbeat. This thread is great. I know what im...
  • Post in thread: Reasons to stick with 12v?

I totally agree with you guys. One of my hobbies is building and inventing weird 12v items for my trailer.
  • Post in thread: DC-Living, all DC appliances for new Tinyhouse -Offgrid project?

  • Post in thread: Lowes has major tool discounts

In store yes. Im up and down socal. Was just at the Norco lowes and they had rippin deals. You know those long bendy drill bits to fish wires between walls? Normal price was $70 on sale for $17. Awesome deals on wire strippers too. Nut drivers. 8 in 1 tool. Got a bright green finishing hammer...
  • Post in thread: Anyone live in Italy?

I emailed them. They replied right away saying to buy one. I sent a second message similar to the first saying I want to see video and never heard back.
  • Post in thread: Is there a reason to not get bifacial panels?

So the biggest issue is heat. Also lack of performance. What would you guys consider too hot for summer temps? Assuming there is an air gap and pretend the wind blows 5-15mph all day. Is 80F already getting to hot? Or does it need to be 100F? Im in the desert. It can get into the high 90s. So...
  • Post in thread: Best battery terminal protector?

What confuses me is using dielectric grease on connectors. The mating surface gets coated in grease. I just dont see how it can push the grease away to make a good contact. That said i use it a lot on automotive and offroad connectors. Would think a tiny tiny thin layer would remain and almost...
  • Post in thread: Are cells larger than 300ah expected soon?

Do you think a place like 18650 will carry a cell larger than 300ah in the future? Im looking at the Envision 305ah for a small 4s battery for a toyhauler. Still many months away. Wondering if maybe by the time im ready a 400ah cell will exist? My thought is that for a mobile setup the less...
  • Post in thread: What makes for a good mobile solar panel?

You got me. Will stop worrying about the earthquake that happens while towing. Going to remove an axle and tell the internet its all good.
  • Post in thread: 1500lbs of solar on fifth wheel roof?

Oh bummer i thought it was designed to fit into a standard RV roof vent.
  • Post in thread: Where to buy the cheapest 50w solar panel? (likely to be stolen)

Ive wanted to power some security cameras from 12v batteries for years. I finally have an older 12v Marine/Rv battery i can sacrifice. Just need a panel. The camera pulls 2watts so i thought maybe a 50w panel would be a good size? The battery can start a 5500w Onan genny so its not completely...
  • Post in thread: Which Turbine?

Never heard of infrasound until now. You read that wind turbines can produce this low frequency?
  • Post in thread: Advice for roof mounting a solar panel awning.

Thats a lot of power!! Mostly heating and cooling the trailer and water heater? Im a big believer in insulation. Fighting a battle that shouldnt be there. If i could go back i would research what brands and model put a high focus on insulating the trailer. I thought about drilling holes in my...
  • Post in thread: Solar panel for taylor dunn cart/golf cart

Not being sarcastic, have you tried to google different terms like "used boat batteries" and "used golf cart batteries" or "battery recycling". You might find a shop that sells used deep cycle batteries. Or again, not being sarcastic. Do you know any fisherman? They might tell you where they...
  • Post in thread: System shutdown- conflicting voltage and state of charge.

My girlfriend had an 04 Escalade. Like 500k miles thing was a beast. It started to randomly drain the battery. I troubleshooted that sucker for months. Would leave the hood open and use a clamp meter to check for any draw. Got lucky a few times and caught the power draw. But it would stop...
  • Post in thread: Mini-Split Clearance

Does brand matter these days even when shaking down the road? I want to build some type of vibration dampening similar to an onboard genny.
  • Post in thread: What makes for a good mobile solar panel?

I thought about getting bifacial panels to put on top a white trailer roof. Will from this forum replied they are not a good match for hot summer temps. So what makes for a good roof mounted mobile solar panel? Are there certain terms that relate to build techniques that handle a mobile setup...
  • Post in thread: Help picking fuse holder

Where do you guys buy from? Ordered from amazon before this forum told me its overpriced. Will return those. Wanted to buy from WayTek but they charge $22 shipping for a fuse holder and 2 fuses.
  • Post in thread: 1500lbs of solar on fifth wheel roof?

Highway 86 in CA on a big weekend you will see people running 80mph all day long. Im always surprised how stable they look. Might also come down to the driver. If your hobby and all the money you make goes to driving toys, good chance you are decent at driving a trailer. Ive encountered the...
  • Post in thread: Do 200w wind generators exist?

It seems the horizonal is more efficient because of all the technology we put into airfoil design. It looks like the vertical stuff is on the rise though. They are putting large vertical turbines on top of buildings. Claim to spin slower and make less noise. There is a guy on youtube saying...
  • Post in thread: 12v or 48v system in RV?

Very cool!! I was picturing that in my head after posting. I have some old 3s Lipos i could repurpose but i dont think it would be legal for trailer brakes. If i start the genny using other techniques, would a 24v to 12v converter be legal to use as trailer brake power source?
  • Post in thread: Ruuvi Bluetooth humidity sensor with Cerbo GX

Searching around for info on the Ruuvi sensors. Do you guys who own the sensor like it and the app? Or should i look at SensorPush or a different brand? I dont have anything Victron, yet. On a different forum i read how the Ruuvi sensors can talk to Victron. So im close to buying one of the $39...
  • Post in thread: Balance your Milwaukee M12 batteries!

Great thread!!! I was just wondering yesterday if my M12 batteries only get balanced if you fully charge. I purposely try not to fully charge them unless im about to use it that second. Im going to copy your trick. But instead of fully charging i will just pick a number like 3.8v and probe each...
  • Post in thread: Help picking fuse holder

What shipping option do you choose? I wrote their customer service. Asked which of their 8 choices is the cheapest. Dude replied saying they cant quote shipping cost. Seems like they deal in mega huge quantities.
  • Post in thread: Shunt Question

Super informative. Do you by chance know what the 600a or 400a WonVon shunt is? Trying to decide between the Victron or WonVon for an RV and small 220ah 12v setup. Would go with Victron, but reading you have to be close to the shunt for bluetooth to work. Would like to be able to check battery...
