Solis S5-GR1P3.6K with datalogger and RAI-3K-48ES-5G AC coupled inv with a US 5000 plyon tech battery with one Acrel meter, both units have a meter connection, can i use the one acrel meter and plug this into both units with rs 485 cable or do i need two meter (one for each unit ?)

If you'd asked me that question 2 months ago I'd have guessed that they have to be separate to avoid data collisions on the RS485 connection. But from a conversation I had recently with @shavermcspud (who has a lot of experience with Solis setups)... apparently you can run multiple Solis inverters with one meter connection shared between them.

So I heard. There are some restrictions. I don't think you can have multiple hybrids (except possible the S6 range?), just one hybrid and one or more others.

Any of the s5 series or bellow don't work too well in parallel mode, it can be done using home assistant but its janky. The S66 model support parallel out of the box.
