I received an email this morning from Signature Solar for their technology upgrade program. The terms are:

Customers are eligible to participate in the upgrade program if they have purchased new Growatt 5k’s or EG4 6500ex or 6000ex inverters from Signature Solar. These inverters are eligible for the upgrade program regardless of whether they are under warranty, as long as they were purchased from Signature Solar.

They are offering substantial discounts on the 18k and 6000xp. Placed my order for upgrading from a 6000ex to a 6000xp.

Way to go Signature!!! Watch for an email on the upgrade program.

Howdy WildBill, fellow Oregonian here. I got the email regarding the upgrade as well but I don't know enough to know how good of a deal it is. I currently have 3 of the 6500EX's, but haven't even fired them up yet. I had a cable fiasco and Sig Solar just resolved it with me last month. Anyway, could you explain in detail a bit more to me about this if you don't mind? I see that the breakers are integrated, so that's cool. But I'd love to know more if you could/would. Thank you!!

Price after discount is $649 with free shipping right now. I have only one to replace but I've been waiting for this trade-in offer. The 6000xp has built-in breakers for AC In/Out and a built-in cutoff for PV. Also seems to have a generator in, if you have the right generator. I already have all of that for my 6000ex so, sunk cost. The 6000xp has dual MPPT inputs so makes it easier to get enough PV.

I'm primarily interested since the 6000ex was discontinued and won't be well supported. The trade-in is limited to two 6000XPs or one 18k (the 18k trade-in requires 4 of the 6500EXs.)

That's all I have but there is more here:

I ended up calling them and talking about it with them today. Ultimately I think I'm going to change out all 3 of mine. I really don't want to spend the extra funds right now, but it'll be a more robust system, and that's what we want right? So, ya. I'll do it before the free shipping offer runs out.

Good morning! I just wanted to make it clear that the maximum number of units allowed for this program per customer is 2.

I bought a 6000ex few months ago but haven't gotten to install it yet. Is it worth paying the extra $750 for the 6000xp? I see 6500ex mentioned a bunch of times above but not the 6000ex. Thanks

Have you opened the box?

I have three Growatts 5000 and I have had so many problems over the past 2yrs, I am.not using them now. SS strung me along until the warranty ran out and dumped me. I believe EG4 and Signature Solar are the same company. They both reside in the same city and they did in the past have the same address. EG4 had had several problems with their inverters the 6000 had an offer to upgrade to the 6500. They then developed problems and then EG4 came out with the 18k. I am going with Sol-Ark 15k they have a proven track record, customer support is excellent(I have call them several times) and I will not have to worry about it blowing up appliances out of the blue for no reason, twice. SS Solar sent me software update on the Growatts. One would not take the upgrade and I removed it from service and used the two remaining. They tripped the transform and blew several appliances, that is when Signature told me my warranty was up. Yeah, I see no deal here, just more headache.

Hi Tony, I am so sorry your experience was not what we aim for here at SS. Maybe we have spoken before but if you'd like to reach out to me at engagement@signaturesolar.com we are always willing to continue looking into what we can do for you!
To clarify, Signature Solar and EG4 are two separate companies.
We have recently announced an upgrade program that includes newly purchased Growatt 5k's - You can check out the details here, maybe this is a solution you might be interested in! https://signaturesolar.com/upgrade-...xE0mfeV3Lgx2laKVCPtI9GzMzqyrb_s1mdrd1poc9qhs4

I cannot trust a company that did me poorly for 18months and then tell me I am out of warrantywhe they never fixed the issues. I am going with Sol-Ark.

I'm so sorry! The 6000's are not included in this program. What issues are you having? If you'd like to DM me with your name and email address, I can have a look into your tickets and see if there is anything we can do to help your situation.

I submitted my serial number for a 6000EX I bought from Signature Solar. I’m interested in s trade in for the 6000XP but haven’t heard back. Is there a timeline for the upgrades?
