Is this the Pace BMS in all the server rack batteries?

Another downside is they might not be user serviceable, then considering warranty work on a welded pack would be bad, and who knows if they will still be around. Something I really like about the SOK batteries, on both accounts. User serviceability is a requirement.
 
Boy, I was looking at building my own battery packs with the PACE BMS so they could communicate with my SOK batteries, until I saw this for $5598:

50kWh! That is a great deal. Amy I missing something? Though maybe that does not include duties and such. Maybe shipping costs to the Denver area will be atrocious.
That's about twice...well actually 2.5 times my 5 rack-mount 100 Ah batteries which cost about $7500... but as above that is a dealer price... so...

They are server rack batteries..... and I am no longer a fan of server rack batteries because of their awkward footprint and awkward wiring. For my needs, I am moving on to the wall mount and stackable form factors.

Having said that, If you have the floorspace for server racks and can do the conduit needed to set them up correctly, they are a great option. They tend to be the best option if you are only looking at $/KWh. (Although, that gain can be significantly eroded when the price of the rack is included).

I suspect that as solar installers ramp up on battery installations, the stackable and wall-mount form factors will be predominant. (The server rack batteries are too labor intensive and that is a big deal to them. ) The volume driven by installers will tend to drive the prices of those form factors down.
 
Got a reply back from them. Shipping cost to my door in the Denver area is $1850. So under $8K for 50kWh. They did say there were under big promotion right now. I replied back if there were user serviceable. If not, I'll have to DIY my own. I really don't expect to get much of a warranty from them and expect to be on my own. I'd like to buy two sets and get to 100kWh. We'll see.

I was reading a couple of weeks back that there is a big glut of LFP cells and that pricing will be affected as such. Same with solar cells. Kinda too soon to be making a purchase like this. I was waiting for the June time frame as the CFO (wife) has prioritized saving for house insurance, home taxes, etc and I agree with her.

I prefer rackmount devices. I can grow vertical more easily rather than horizontal. But that is my situation.

Yup.... everyone has a different situation. There is no right or wrong.... just what is best for the situation
 
The Coremax battery as shown in the link is an exciting product. CATL cells are very high quality. Its great that another option is available. But I'm in California and I needed a CEC listed server rack battery and a UL listed battery cabinet. Also, before I purchased, I spoke with my local distributor and also tech support for the company. Both were easily reachable by phone. I purchased the Pytes Ebox. Eight of them in parallel, in 2 cabinets that are UL approved. I placed them 3 feet apart for NFPA 855 and I placed them 24 inches from my garage walls so I could easily access the walls for any maintenance, etc. Paired them with a Luxpower 12k and they have been up and running for 7 weeks now without a hiccup. So in my case, I wanted to be in compliance with codes set in California.

But, by all means, if you live elsewhere, save the money.

It is apparent from the current USA status that large lithium battery plants will not be coming to USA anytime soon for the homeowner marketplace as long as Asia has a cheap ready alternative. The major US automakers do not have the necessary billions to invest to build electric passenger cars and compete in that marketplace. They need combustion engines and trucks to make a buck. So I am not aware of any large capital outlay for LFP at present. However, there is much research on alternative cell chemistry going on that represents opportunity.

I am in the same situation, as such I purchased the SOK batteries instead of Trophy batteries. The SOK batteries also had a non prorated warranty which was a requirement for me.

But now that the system is alive and operational since November, I'm looking into what is best for the house. I find LFP batteries very safe and the whole 3' rule shouldn't apply to these. I also see the utilities hands in the code requirements as they don't want people going off grid. Just enough battery that they can pull from, but not enough that you disconnect from them.

I'm fine with the Coremax being a 100A per battery at this point. The Sol-Ark 15K can't do more than 275A anyway. Hope to be pull down more than 200kWh a day in PV when the summer solstice comes around.

I tailored the BMS. And I had them add removable wheels. I finally got them to put in an active balancing module. I thought it would be internal, but their solution was an external one that you plug-in. Discussions went on for many weeks, but I finally got them to agree with my requirements and price. $1230. With shipping for two the total was $3120.

And I present to you, Microsoft Windows.

Don't take me the wrong way, I use, eat, sleep and breathe windows, but not without complaint and lost sleep fixing issues. I'm also not saying the competition is much better either.
I don't do Windows. MacOS for my wife, Linux for me, and VenusOS (Linux) on my pi to watch the stuff I bought from you.
