Wiring a 12v load

Might be a dumb question.

I'd like to wire a couple of things on 12v and my (MPPT) charge controller doesn't have a load output. Can I just add a 2nd (cheap PWM) controller to the mix, with no PV going in, and come off of that?
 
If you're running a 12v system you can go right from the battery to your fuse block to your loads.

If you're running 24v or 48v you'll need a converter to kick it down to 12v.

Either way the LOAD ports on controllers are usually pretty low capacity and should only be used for things like small LED lights and such.

It is a 12v system. I was thinking I'd do a couple little car charger USB ports and maybe some LED stair lights. Maybe I am better off going off the battery.
