Hi. I have a small cabin powered by 500w of solar, connected to 2x Trojan 6v T105s via a Morningstar TS45 controller.

All been good for 5 years.

Just been topping up the water and noticed the case is distorted by the negative terminals on each of them. It looks as though the case is ballooning around the terminal. It's only slight - tried photographing it but it didn't really show.

We use the power to run 12v LEDs, and have a Victron 350w inverter connected that runs a standard domestic fridge and charges laptops.

I guess the distortion is caused by heat. Are the batteries failing or is the charge controller failing?

It's been totally fine for 5 years with the cabin occupied for 3 months on and off, spring and autumn.

I found the controller thermometer wasn't connected properly. Should be ok now.

If they still work, not leaking and capacity is not affected i wouldnt worry. They dont stay perfectly square, the cases will have some waves or bulges, its just plastic.

They didn't freeze did they?

No freezing. It's been pretty warm though. Around 30 degrees ( I'm in France)
