Solar charge controllers overcharging during full sun hours.

It has USE setting that looks like you can set to whatever voltages you want.

Would select USE and set boost to 28.8V, float to 27V. If you can set boost time as well, set to 30 minutes.
That 28.8v is also assuming his cells are balanced.

One run away cell combined with a poor BMS he may not get to above 27.6v before the BMS stops charging.
 
The USE setting did not work for changing the values. It let me change the setting from 12 to 24volts. Then when you hit the up button it goes back to 12volt and every push after that just goes through the factory 12 volt settings. It wouldn't even change those.
 
I have researched it but I don't think I can change the values for charging etc. Bummer.
Page 21 explains how to alter voltages.

show the settings for a 12 volt battery.

You set as 12 volt systm and the unit X2 the setting for a 24 volt system. This is explained in the manual.

The batteries in series/parallel could have become unbalanced causing a BMS shutdown in one or more of the batteries.
