I am working on installing a 24V system in a Cargo Van conversion. I still need to decide on Panels. Could someone please look at this from the MPPT down and offer any suggestions or corrections I should make.

I'm a beginner too, but what stand out to me is you need fuse & disconnect on the positive between battery and bus bar. Your Shunt should be on the negative side between battery and bus bar.

  • Change your ANL fuses to a different type.
  • To the inverter use a class T.
  • On the battery post use a MRBF.
  • You don't need to fuse the MPPT line to the bus bar.
  • With 1 string of panels you don't need a fuse at all. If you choose to fuse it use a MC4 fuse.
You may want to switch to 48v to avoid 333amps and the larger wire and fuses.

If you already have parts you can't exchange I understand sticking with 24v. All wires 20% over max expected current. All wire the same. The mrbf should be 20% over max BMS output.

Thank you for the help! I am kind of stuck with the 24V right now. I am going swap out the inverter for one that is 1200W continuous and 2400 MAX though. That should drop it down to 100AMP.

For the MRBF should I still stay with a fuse of the battery BMS "200" + 20%?
