I’m going to install an Epoch Essentials12V 300Ah LiFePO4 Battery in the front pass-thru of my travel trailer. I’m looking for a recommendation on brand/model/settings for a “deck mounted” converter charger. I’ve been looking at the Progressive Dynamics and PowerMax brands.

ProgressiveDyn has the PD9100L or Pd9300 which will push up to 80 amps.
PowerMax has three series: PM3, PM3 Lithium Plus, or PM4. All of which can be had in 100 amp models.

I tend to get a little confused when the manufacturers (battery and charger) list recommended charge voltages for stages, so I’m finding it hard to decide.

I’m looking for recommendations on which one to get and what settings to use (variable vs fixed mode, etc.).

The reason for the upgrade is to be able to have travel periods where we may overnight without hookups, so we want to be able to run the 12V refrigerator safely for more time. Then, we’d expect to run a Champion (model 200960) 2000 (1700 gas/1530 propane) watt inverter generator to top things off when at camp.

We also have Furrion 165W solar panel and 25A MPPT Solar charge controller.

We currently have a WFCO-8735 non-LiFePo4 compatible converter/charger power center.
