Have an opportunity to buy very cheap A123 24V 8s Lifepo4 batteries units from a late model Fisker.
These are 7 years old, with "Low mileage". I know most poeple are buying new batteries...the discount is too much not to consider this, so im wondering about the expected life/longevity of these and what I could realistically expect worst case.
Considering this car was a true plug in hybrid (I didnt know this actually), id expect them not to really have been cycled too much...
The car is plug-in with an engine that works solely as generator to charge the pack. Would there be other parts good to grab off it?
Batteries are currently at 22.3 and 22.4v. Its an hour plus away so cant really go there multiple times to test, etc...
Anyone used older lifepo4 with good results? Is it too risky? Is there a quick and easy test to see battery life?
