Amazon Sucks Big-Time!

Yeah, @Santa , was joking earlier to a friend about how people read the title "Amazon Sucks Big-Time!", then read the thread, only to suggest that people in the thread are negative. If they are so positive, then why open a thread with that title? Why read it? Then why talk down to the people in the thread blaming them for how they feel and what they have to say about a company? What's more negative then trying to diminish your other solar lovers?

> If Amazon falls short of your expectations, don't use it. Problem solved.

or...

If people sharing their opinions and experiences with a company fall short of your expectations, don't read them. Problem solved.

@Santa if you decide to progress with the BBB filing, I could do one on Friday's bad experience so perhaps we can help each other out through the process.

the supv said it would take 10 to 20 minutes to give me the credit of $10.63 and would call me when it is applied...how long has it been? HOURS and no credit...

Santa that happened to me before on receiving an amazon credit. As it turned out it won’t show until you order in the checkout. It also can only be only used for items sold by amazon, and fulfilled by amazon. Not sold by other venders but fulfilled by amazon. Pretty tricky eh ?
Check for the description right below the add to cart and buy now buttons.
That may be the credit they gave you common for credits given to appease unhappy customers. Refunds should not be in the form of those restricted credits. ✌️

What happened again on Friday with Amazon? Did you start a complaint yet by logging into BBB?

I think I shared it somewhere in this thread. I'll try to find it in the morning. Didn't file it. Not important to me. But, if you decide it is important to you, I can try to help you by doing with you.

Thanks, goodnight. I will look tomorrow.

Santa, did you file a complaint with your credit card company? That usually works quickly.

Amazon did NOT make me whole. I only received 2 items out of about 40? items. (And maybe I will receive the refrigerator). They have no intention of doing that. I don't believe they even have the competence to do that. I've spent hours on the phone with them. It's been almost a month. It's just not worth all the stress....What is camelcamelcamel? I didn't see the white printer there.

The account you mentioned being frozen in the first post, was that your credit card account or amazon account? I've personally ordered hundreds of things from them and for the life of me, I cannot remember having any issues that caused me pain, and I hold grudges forever. But then I mostly have them shipped to the same location. Only occasionally do I have them shipped to somewhere I am traveling too, although I had them ship a $150 device to the middle of nowhere in Alaska. I was kind of shocked it arrived in a couple of days.

Sorry you are having issues. Maybe you can ask for "onshore" customer service? Pretty much everyone uses offshore folks and quite often the folks I talk to appear to be on their first day of employment reading an totally irrelevant script presented by their computer systems..

Anyway, camelcamelcamel.com is a website that tracks amazon pricing over time and if you setup alerts will send an email to you when something meets your price criteria on the site. As for the white printer, the link I saw was for black, red or white on the amazon site. It defaults to black, you just have to chose the color of the printer icon.

My Amazon account was frozen due to unusual activity, possible fraud, but there was NOTHING different from the day before when I received Will's book, and they STILL sent me panels and pliers after that. I DID ask for U.S. supervisors. I think I spoke with 6 or 7? of them. I don't hold grudges, only try to hold this company accountable. I used the same card, I used the same billing and shipping address, my bank said that everything was fine on my card, no fraud charges, etc. I am told every time I called that basically customer service does not have the reason they did this.

Amazonian Update For All You Amazon-lovers: There's good news and bad news.

Good news first: I received my fridge! Yay! (Looking for time to read the instructions on putting on handles and testing it out.)

Bad news: It took me exactly one month to get it bc of Amazon's ineptitude.

More bad news: I HAD Amazon Prime, but didn't really get to use it bc of everything. ^ That day, I received an email that my Prime was renewing and they were suspending my Prime account BC my credit card didn't go through...[VERY HEAVY SIGH} I'm back at square one...There was nothing wrong with my first credit card, and when I went to buy the fridge the 2nd time, they asked for a credit card(which they should not have needed, due to I was supposed to have a 100% credit, because they never refunded me in the first place). But, I gave them a different one which is a pre-paid credit card that I use for online purchases. They now have 2 of my credit cards. I don't even have the time or energy to call them up right now and find out what their problem is. The candle is burning at both ends. What really bothers me is, I never even got to watch one "free" movie. IMO, nothing's free in life...especially with Amazon.

Santa, This post was about your prepaid card comment. You might want to check out Citi Bank credit cards. Their MasterCard gives you the ability to use Virtual Account Numbers (VAN) to pay bills online or over the phone. I have even handed a printed screen shot of a card number to a vendor once. You can set an amount limit or time and amount limit if you want, or just generate a card with no limit that can only be used with one vendor just once.

They do not work well with Amazon though as I found out long ago. It appears Amazon uses different merchant accounts regularly which doesn't work with the reoccurring type of VAN payments. But they work great everywhere else. They are the bomb for things that auto renew that you may not want to auto-renew like magazines and other subscriptions. Plus you don't need to preload a card. If you lose a prepaid card, i think you are SOL.
One of their M/C cards with the VAN feature has a 2% unlimited cash back. I had one of those from another company starting back in the early 90's and it put money into a 529 plan. About 20 years later that account, not funded at all by me, paid for one year of my son's undergrad tuition and room and board. (that was incredible) The citi bank card rebates just stay in the account till you redeem it for whatever you want. Cash, Credit etc.

Santa, just curious, how did Amazon deliver the Fridge? I have never purchased something that large from them. Do they bring it inside and get rid of the old one?

I tend to find local places that will match or beat their prices on something as expensive as large appliances. I just bought a fridge from a local dealer for a great price, a couple hundred less that Amz's and for a $150 delivery are going to bring it in thru the window of my RV by this Saturday or sooner if they can get it down from the LA warehouse earlier. Appliances are great buys this time of year, probably cause no one wants something like that for a Christmas present!

I also found an awesome deal on a new washer on lowes site last night (ours finally died yesterday, been keeping it running with bailing wire and duct tape for many years now) And I am glad I bought it last night as today it costs a couple bucks more than what I paid last night with tax, delivery and removal of the old unit. Holy cow was I lucky to have google that model number I found on consumer reports site as a recommended buy. -Bill

It's a fridge for camping. I don't need a washer. ???

Why do you contact my friend, Jeff Bezos, at jeff@amazon.com. I'm sure he will take care of your problem. All kidding aside, it might be worth a try. I've done it before for an Amazon Warehouse deal where I bought a "new" range hood and it came with a big dent on the front. After I emailed him, I received an extra credit for the hassle of having to return it.
