Awesome! I have the same growatt inverter. I’ve been able to pull 3000w continuous. My overkill BMS registers about 4200w surge for my gas dryer to start and the Growatt handled it when my 2000w gas generator could not.
I’m curious why you have an 80A breaker on the positive lead. Wouldn’t that limit the system to about 2000w before it would trip? Btw, I tested the system at 117A ~ 3000w continuous to boil water and make coffee. It went well for the 5-6 minute run.
I haven’t tried it on my refrigerator yet because I have to move it away from the wall to access the plug. It is a full size electric fridge - Kenmore French door and bottom freezer. It should run 600w continuous with a surge of about 2000w for the motor. I’m pretty confident the inverter will handle it. The Growatt can handle a ~4300w surge from my gas dryer and I’ve run a continuous 3000W for 6 minutes.Larry does your system power a full sized electric refrigerator?
The maximum charge current is 80 amps. So I figured that was my limit. The 200 amp fuse is for catastrophic failure. My opinion of pushing these systems to their upper limits may give you premature breakdown of your solar components. Seems to me, running a system up to 80% of the max would be my top limit. I am planning on putting together a build video showing the assembly in more detail. My battery works ok, but if you are looking at running a refrigerator and some other components, maybe 8 Fortune cells for a 12v or 16 cells for 24v. A 24v system runs much better than a 12v. The amperage demands of a 12v system are quite high. A 24v 16 cell system, would give you a good cushion for having enough battery capacity to run larger appliances. I just ordered 4 100 Ah Fortune cells, I think I will order another set to make my system 24 v like yours. I was going to go with 12 v, but found it wouldn't be enough to power a refrigerator and a few small devices like I wanted. If you have some free time, do you mind making a parts list for the cart (I don't need the panel setup)? I don't have to have exact links to where you bought things, but make/model. I know where to get the cells and the BMS, but the rest of it.
