Applying black electricial tape over equipment LED indicators to block out the light will reduce power consumption.

My original post was intended to be humorous, yet you guys are responding with technically viable solutions that actually reduce power consumption and even effect genuine repairs to automotive diagnostic alarm conditions. Don't you guys ever just kick back and have a little fun without always having to solve for X? Sheesh.

Mine was not serious. Please don't do that ????
I have never owned a car equipped with a check engine light that was off. I thought it was just an indication that all was well and simply a reminder to do routine things like check the oil level every hundred thousand miles or so!

If your car leaks oil, don't worry. Only worry when it stops leaking oil. ?

Yowza .. she is ... I mean those shoes ... she has to take extreme care to never bend over beyond a slight crouch in that red dress ... oh right, the oil, pouring it all over the engine, that was the matter of the subject, right? ?

I had to watch it three times before I knew there was a car and oil jug...

I'm a broken down, 60 year old, fat white guy,
She looks like a LOT of fun, right up until she speaks the first 3 words...

The military doctor asked me where I wanted to do my recovery/rehab time after an injury, I said someplace warm so he assigned me Key West NAS... In winter, so all the rich snowbirds were down there.
Lots of 'Trophy' wives & girlfriends, and more hanging around looking for rich husbands.

While they looked GREAT at the beach, there certainly weren't any rocket scientists in the bunch...
I have a curse, stupid and selfish hurts my feelings, and on a Marine pay check I certainly didn't find a wife down there...
But it was a lot of fun window shopping! ;)

That does make sense, I mean the light is obviously always on, might as well harvest the energy from it!

Yup!
That 25-35 watt bulb *Should* power the entire house according to the 'Free Power' guys!

Now, if we could just harness the hot air and bad ideas from Washington DC... Maybe...?
