Stripped threads

Has anyone repaired stripped threads on their LifePO4 battery. Would you use a keensert insert or just drill and tap larger threads.

I would drill and tap...carefully. Do not use too much torque or you can damage the terminal internally.

From another thread on the forum, check the depth of the existing hole and ensure that you don't go to the bottom if drilling / tapping. Stay a few millimetres above it or you'll likely cause damage.

I had 4 big cells that came without a hole at all (intended to be welded) I drilled and tapped the first one, but the other three I just drilled a hole the same size as the bolt shaft and screwed it in letting the bolt threads make their own way through the soft aluminum, then I backed them out and sanded down the small ridge at the hole top that formed. Worked like a champ and a heck of a lot faster plus it gave the bolts a great bite when I screwed down cable lugs.
