Semi flex VS "solid" (?) solar panels

I see most people use the encased panels with the frames, glass and such but I see online a lot of good quality semi flexible panels and in my head a semi flex seems like it would be best on a short bus roof, which is what I plan to convert. What do you guys think? And what are the pros n cons of each?
 
How many years do you want them to last? If you want more than two years, it's probably best to stick with glass.
Oh ok so that's the biggest difference? I need them to last for as long as possible so it sounds like the encased is the best way to go. Thank you very much

Yeah, the flexible are not lasting long, they don’t have the airflow or mass to handle the heat that goes with solar input...
 
I use flexible on my boat and they fit my situation well so far. See this video from a source I trust.
