Hi from Tasmania and Solar Panel brown staining.

It is an absorption fridge a really good one. I was surprised how well it works. -20 in freezer. I reckon I'll stick with gas at this stage. Though going all solar would be something better to attain.

It may perform very well, but it has a huge energy requirement. Creating heat takes 5-6X as much energy as MOVING it. If you want to power it with solar, you'll need to replace the fridge with a compressor-type. A 20cu-ft residential fridge takes about 2kWh/day. An absorption type fridge of that size takes about 10-12kWh/day.

I probably needed the advise before I purchased these panels.I am on a small budget with a small system.I hope to enjoy the benefits with the coming southern winter. My previous battery and solar array was lacking.I live in the bush and require very little. Still a thank you and I will take your advise on board Don. :)View attachment 88466
That picture is what we looked like today, 3/24/2016, except we had wind and some beautiful snow sculptures and drifts. This winter has been a bit wimpy, maybe you will get the same.

For the entertainment value, I have posted a thread about solar panel covers, for those days & nights when snow may be an issue. You can find it in the humor forum. ?

I'll take a look WYtreasure. That snow photo was last winter here in the southern latitudes of Australia. Down this way people enjoy the snow and find it novel living down low. We live at 600 metres and catch a few dumps a year. It doesn't get below zero at this altitude when it snows. Frosts down to -4C on occasions.
