The Tracer-3215RN is offering to choose between 3 batterie-types: sealed lead-acid, agm or flooded. Is this controller usable with lithium ? Which setting should I choose for lithium ??

I prefer to have control over voltage when charging LFP batteries so I would only buy a charger that lets me vary it between 3.45 and 3.50 per cell for longest life. Usually the current is fixed.

You should buy a charge controller with lithium settings or user specified settings.

There is nothing magical about battery charging. Manufacturers would like you to believe that you should pay more for a "Lithium battery" charger. It is All about voltage and a Lithium battery does not even need a Float or trickle charge when it is done which makes it even simpler to produce. Also Lithium does not need long Absorb (Constant Voltage) stages which are inefficient. In fact Lithium has very little memory
so you don't have to fully charge them every day, which for off gridders can reduce the number of panels they need to install.

You're are right. But there's a half assed way and a right way. And the right way is to be able to control your charge settings. I get it if that’s all you have and no money and you need something it will work. But if your buying stuff Nows the time to build it right.

Yes that is why in an earlier post I mentioned my preference for control over voltage. I think the half assed way is to spend more money on chargers labeled Lithium chargers that are nothing more than power supplies that have a Constant Current Stage and a Constant Voltage stage. What is your definition of a half assed Lithium charger?
