JK-BMS question?

Hi....Does the length of the JK bms cables affect its performance?... I cut some to match them in others that were too short for me
Which JK bms cables do you mean? If balancing ones, just keep all of them ideally the same length. If P- and B-, it doesn't matter. In my B2A24S20P version, there are pair of cables on each side. You need keep them just the same length to avoid overloading one of the cable in the pair because of its lower resistance.

It will affect the mOhm Resistance which can affect the math processes. This feature is also important for Troubleshooting to see if something is either amiss at Installation or if something goes awry later on. Ideally the wires should be the Same Size gauge & type. They are Silicone Jacketed Pure Copper.

Hope it helps, Good Luck. The New Manual is released and would be of value to you.

I cut the excess length from each of my sense wire to eliminate needing to coil or back track. My BMS would only fit on the end of the pack which was 2p4s so the shortest wire is about 5" and the longest is 24". The JK tested each wire and entered a different resistance for each without any input from me.
On all other BMS's identical wires is an important thing but the JK tests the actual installation and adjusts accordingly.

I'm interested in getting the same bms. What inverter are you using? Wondering if the 200 amp bms will suffice for my 4000 watt inverter. It is only going to be used at back up right now.

For 48V yes. I have 3 ea 200A BMS for my 24V 4000W inverter. Redundancy and I never max out anything from China. It will run cooler and last longer.

24 volt 3000 watt Victron Multiplus.
I use a 150 amp. No issue so far.
I’m would estimate a 200 could handle a 5000 watt surge. A 250 would be a safe amperage for surge needs.

So I have the JK-B2A24S15P BMS, and am using it on 16x EVE 280AH cells configured in 2P8S 24V system. It is working in 8S configuration, new system build, running for about a month now. After installing the mobile app and connecting for the first time, it detected that cells didn't match with the pre-configured 16 cells but I was able to adjust down to 8 cells, and also adjusted few other parameters.

This JK-BMS is great in my opinion, I was able to top balance the newly installed pack just by using the integrated 2A balancer. So it works at 8S and I assume it's going to work also at 24S and everything in between. Hope this helps.
I’m confused. Do you mean you got a 16s jk bms to detect two banks of 8s cells? In effect one bms is handling both parallel banks?

Typically, when you say 2p8s this means that you parallelize eight pairs of cells and then hook those eight pairs into an 8-cell parallel string. That I similar to what I did with my 2p4s 12-volt pack.
