Hi,

We have a victron 150/60 scc and two 400w Lg panels on our boat.

My question is, if I had 4 renogy flexible panels to add to my system. Is it safe to add a busbar that combine the two strings together at that busbar before going to the victron scc?

Or do i neet to add another different scc ?

Thank you!

It is safe but there are details that you should consider. Ideally the two strings should have the same Voc and the same voltage at max power. If they are close, you should see the increase you would expect. But for example of your LGs are in series and have series Voc of 80v (60cell) and your Renogy series Voc is 92v, then that is less than ideal. Likely the LGs are 72 cell, but the 80Voc is just for example reasons.

Fuses for two strings are normally not required with matching strings. If the LGs current is much larger than the Renogy current, the Renogy string needs a fuse, most likely. An odd failure might cause the power from the LG to be shorted on the Renogy wiring, so if that wiring is not rated for the LGs amps, that is why you need that fuse.
