Hello all.
I have a fifth wheel trailer with 4 solar panels.
The spec of the panel is
200 w
Voc 24.3V
imp 9.8A
I want to string 4 panels in series.
I got few options from Victron SCC
1. 100/50
2. 150/35
3. 150/70
I don‘t have more space to add more panels in the future.
Please give me a recommendation for which SCC I should purchase.
Thank you.

What battery voltage are you going to run? You've got 800W of panel and at 12V you'll need 67A (or 57A at 14V). If you go to 24V, you'll be able to get by with the 150/35.

(150V input as 24.3V * 4 = 97.2, too close if the weather gets cold as the PV OC voltage goes up with dropping temps.)

Why not 2S2P array? You wouldn't be battling the max input voltage.

With panels laying flat on the roof, 50A charging is likely enough.

Oddly this is 40% off at Amazon ($184, reg $307)

Heck at that price, i'd consider 2S into 2 different 100/50 SCCs.

Or even 2x 100/30 just $128 (35% off)

Victron just reduced their pricing on the sccs yesterday.

Perhaps the 150/45? 650W at 12 V.

I recommend the 150/35 for 4S.

I have 600 watts of panels on my roof to a victron controller. Although it can push 6 watts per 100 watts to charge the battery, so 36 amps, I never see it. I can see 25 amps total Because of the flat orientation. You may actually see closer to 30 to 35 amps because your array is 200 watts bigger.

4 panels in series is a bit tricky for voltage. I could expect on my system to see 88 volts, but if I were to use this on a cold day, you could exceed 100 volts and harm the SCC.

2S2P in series could produce some voltage loss, which may result in slightly longer charge time, a few minute, but to go to a smaller SCC, the 100/50, would be worth if to me.

Another advantage to the 150 series versus the 100 volt series, is the 150 volt series can do 48, 24, and 12 volt systems. The 100 volt series is 24 volts and 12 volts. There’s a bit of a premium price for that extra charging voltage, but if you’re staying at 12 volts, probably not worth it.

i dont see the updated pricing on any of the websites I frequent.
Take a look at Amazon as an example (for the vendors that have updated pricing). The smart sccs are all reduced, however rs450s aren't.
