My inverter has received and firmware update and it is about 10db louder that is was previous, apparently this is just the way it is now. Has anyone built an acoustic enclosure that deadens the hum of the fans but allows proper cooling and flame resistance?

I was thinking of doing some type of enclosure for the whole unit and then venting the fans through a series of bends to cancel the sound but allow the air, I think I have seen this before, or I have imagined it. Just wondering what others have done.

Get some scrap 1” ductboard from your HVAC contractor. Purchase a roll of 3” foil tape. See what you can come up with. Go bigger to prevent flow restriction. It will help.

That is a great idea! I used to install HVAC many moons ago and did not think of that.
