Hi,

For any Electrical Engineers or Designers in the group, can a 110V outlet be split between land power and power supplied by an inverter? Does this go against any NEC code requirement? Would an inspector not approve it?

Thank you

A standard duplex receptacle has two outlets and they are manufactured with tabs that link the upper and lower hot & neutrals together. If you look on the sides of the receptacle you will see the brass tabs that have a slot where a small screw driver can be inserted so the tabs can be removed by bending them back and forth, they should separate at the score line but sometimes requires diagonal cutters or needle nose pliers to clean things up.
This separates the upper and lower outlet so you may connect two separate circuits (house power & Inverter power) using the screws provided for each one.

They may require labeling of some kind. I ran across a outlet setup like that years ago luckily I tested both plugs could have been a human audio voltage tester
