Hello all..

So I have a really bad habit of starting projects and not finishing them, either because I run out of time or more usually, the skills or knowledge.. I just love to learn by trying, so I know a little about a lot.. annoying for many I know but like I say, I just love to spend my time trying out new stuff.. but have a busy day job..

Ive been working up a draft plan that combines some of these projects, my vision long term is to combine into a kit and commercialise it.. the componant parts are:

- Garden Structure
- Solar Generation
- Wind Generation
- Energy Storage
- Veg/Food growing beds/Fish (aquaponics)
- Automated maintenance (such as farmbot)
- Internet Connected for data sharing, community and resources

Everyone can be both a solar farmer and a solar gardener!

I have been working up designs and reaching out to potential suppliers etc for years, never really had the time to move this forward, getting it off the page and building some prototypes was going to be expensive and time consuming whatever.. so nothing happened..

Then.. LOCKDOWN.. a few weeks in my employer offers to fund improvements at my home office... a late night, some beers and a few clicks on the internet and a 10kw off gird system is on its way to me.. 24 hours later, realise I definately should have sought some proper advice from experts before just placing an order.. what a twat.. things get worse as deliveries start arriving quicker than I expected.. I now am the proud possesor of:

16 x EG-310 M60-C - Mono 310w
16 x VR-M 6v 250Ah (for 22kWh)
SP1048, 10000WATT, PLUG 'N' PLAY PHOTOVOLTAIC CONTROL CABINET from Voltacon (2x Inv)

I have a constant high load, running servers 24/7 and a home office, I am confident ill use all the energy I can generate but appreciate that some might still leak back to the grid. The vision was for a hybrid solution that reduces bills as much as possible and is capable in a grid down situation... but not sure I have the right kit here...

Thoughts and amusing quips on this erroneous effort are more than welcome.. what's a lockdown good for if not for sharing... even more so, practical advice on utilising this kit would be great.

Any recommendations on experts/installers (aiming for mix of ground a roof mounting) in South East UK would be great too.

Thanks

badger

Its an emotional roller-coaster ride. Did they supply mounts and cables, disconnects, all that good stuff?

Yep its an integrated system, so the electronics all pre-built... mounts I have a selection of options arriving... 6x Consol +'s and ground mounters.. 6 panels x2..

like this...
