Good morning!

Quick question - can I use the cable below to connect my EG4 LL V2 battery (RS485 port) to my PI (USB) for SA to give me detailed battery readings? I thought I could.

Thanks in advance.

can you provide teh pin out to make a cable as i have a macbook running either osx or boot camp windows 10 but only USB C ports. i have an adapter to rj45 (ethernet from apple i use to talk to my cars ODB-II interface works fine. can i not just make a double ended RJ-45 male cable from the adapter on the mac to the input RS-485 of the LL's stacked, what you show on the link above is old type USB-A. any recent laptops don't have those any more.

thanks

let try this again. i want to check my LL sereis batteries using BMS_Tools on a windows 11 laptop or a macbook pro (under bootcamp or OS X).

i see in the battery manual that rs485 uses pin 1 & 2, now i have to make a cable that goes to an ethernet to USB-C adapter so do i just run pin 1=pin 1 and that is all then connect the USB=c to either laptop? or do pin1 and pin2 need to flip or change positions? anyone?

thanks

neither of the links posted above has anything todo with making a usb-c to ethernet adapter using a rj45 male to male cable to connect to the rs-485 port on the LL batteries. did i miss something??

I guess you need to do some research on your own and figure it out. Or pony up a few bucks and buy a cable. Good luck!

if I was in US easy choice but i am in costa rica and to order and ship here from USA price goes up a lot for shipping and duty and takes time. i have all i need to make a cable but not the wire but thinking about it there is a chip involved also to convert to RS-422/485 or 232 so i guess i have to buy and wait.

ok i have an industrial grade usb to RS485 converter/connector. on the ethernet side only pin 1&2 wired per manual pin 1 485 B+ pin 2 485 A-. i installed the correct drive for the device and do a scan both address 1 and 64 and nothing, it seems to scan port 3/4 but my device is on comm 2. also can the can bus comms to invert be active when doing this 485 to the BMS tools? yes i used 9600baud, 8 bits no parity 1 stop bit but see no info on any of those setting? thoughts or ideas from any that got it to work?
