So where does the fuse go?

My inverter manual says I should place a fuse on the positive side of the battery

But when I google it they say the fuse should be on the negative terminal of the battery

which is it?

My battery configuration is exactly like in the picture, except I bought two fuses (1 for each battery) but now I don't know where to put them. One on each positive terminal?? or one on each negative terminal??

Question, suppose he was wiring both batteries in series for 24 volts. Would he place a fuse on both positive terminals of the batteries? Even though the 2nd battery was connected to the 1st batteries negative?

Only needed on the main positive.
But you can do both, for additional safety.
