Looks like this is coming, pre-order to Canada. $6,500 CAD

Appears to be a branded version similar to the EG4 PowerPro, but with lower cost connectors, BMS, etc.

Any initial thoughts?

That is LUDICROUS ! $6500 for THAT !
Buy Canadian with our own LFP Cells (Made in Quebec) from a Canadian Company that designs & engineers everything here ! They are premium but NOT that insane.

Even Rolls Surette makes LFP Packs and they are cheaper too ! YES, Another Canadian Company - East Coast !

Then you have Ruixi selling in Canada for a Damned Good Price no less... https://www.ruixubattery.com/buy-now

Appreciate that you can buy a Complete 48V/280AH Pack for $2100 CAD in China and have it shipped for less than HALF of that $6500 bit. BUT also realize what these weigh ? Try 135kg/297Lbs.

Never said it was a good price! but still good to see more options in Canada...

Those Volthium ones look pretty decent... I'm going to keep looking!

I guess it is about 3 typical 100Ah rack batteries in one wall unit.. Not many options are below $2000 CAD per 100Ah (48V)..

Solar Power Store is doing closely follwing the model of SignatureSolar, they have their own in-house brand (Maple Leaf) that hunts down lower cost chinese OEM's and gets the brand on it. Lets hope they get enough business to support the product for longer than 6 months.

They have been getting alot of the batteries from TOPBAND, which i never heard of,.. but since they also appear to be the manufacturer of the Ruixu rack batteries they appear to have a solid manufacturing track record. These moose batteries look to be from another OEM

From the looks of it these are gsl 14.3 batteries. They retail direct from gsl for 3500usd + shipping.

A Seplos 280L case comes with very much the same spec and works out a hell of a lot cheaper - we are lucky in the UK that we have a company to buy the complete package from at a reasonable price!

oh wow! they look nice.
{I like DIY packs}
I've built my own packs for years now out of 3/4" Plywood with Polycarbonate lids and have a few out there in circulation no less. But, we have now settled on our final config (been a few yrs of evolution & growth) and I have steel cases en-route along with the latest JKBMS to "finalize" 6 packs. The only one not being switched is the 100AH as that's headed to the toolshed.

I've been in touch with gsl the manufacturer and they've provided me with the ul9450 document. The battery is ul9450 with lux power 12k (ie the eg4).

If LuxPower holds the certification, that is for the specific product as tested. If they "only" rebadge the exact same equipment, it could be tested & certified easily, but any differences and it has to go through the costly process. Also remember that Canadian Certifications are not exactly the same as US certifications and that can pop up and make life a PITA when most inconvenient of course.

Just an FYI that many don't realize with things like "gas" fuelled (LPG & NG) devices like On Demand water heaters... If they do not have a proper CSA certification, getting that installed or insured is near impossible.

There are many subtle differences between US & CA certifications for electrical items, gas & other fuelled appliances & devices and more... be cautious so you don't get stuck with something that Insurance can use to invalidate claims.

I was provided the certificate, the full report will be provided shortly. The full ul test report is for the lxp-lb-us-12k (clTSus #210225117) and GSL051280-A-B-GBP2 (cSGSus #SZES220800462161

Both which are Canadian and Us listed.

That is good advice about markings. I had to explain that to my wife when she tried to purchase a hp water heater from the states since it was significantly cheaper.

Where did you find out they use cheap connectors in this battery. It passes all North American certs, and Canada certs, which are very strict.

I think I like the idea of a product sold in canada, by a Canadian company, with Canadian support, and certified in North america. I'll pay the extra for peace of mind

With some local support, these companies will expand offerings over the next few years.
lots of new product and capacity coming on line across N.America in a few years.
Exciting times to be doing site power generation.

I have one of these, bought from Solarpowerstore, along with the Lux 18/12k inverter. Salesman suggested it, it was not on there website, mine is GSL branded. I Paid $6000 - 10% + HST for the battery and free delivery to my door last august. Probably a sample unit before they Moose branded it. So far it seems ok, have not put it to much heavy use yet tho. The problem i do have is no user manual came with it, no interface software, and it was sold to me as "self heating", which it does not seem to have. No resolution yet.

Now it does surprise me that people are criticizing the pricing. It is the same or less than any of the others suggested and Solar power store does seem to offer a discount for new buyers.

As per links above

Ruixu seems very close for similar capacity, no display and more setup (3 batteries and rack) - 15 kw @ $6606

Voltium does not state a price on their website for their 10.4 kw 48v or any 48 v.

AES 7.4 kw @ $9000 !!!

We get screwed in Canada either way
